Linux Mint 22 - The game continues in the background
I have mounted Steam and Ubisoft Connect in Lutris on Linux Mint 22, bought and installed Assassin`s Creed 3 Remasterd via Steam. After starting the game, I played through the prologue, saved and closed the game. The PC was put into sleep mode and the next day I see that I can “STOP” the game under Steam and I`m already 13.9 hours into the game. This is not a Linux Mint bug, is it? Is it a malfunction of Steam or Ubisoft? The game is not open at the bottom of my (task)bar, but after 14 hours of playing time, of course, an exchange under Steam is also impossible, the game and all my friends now think that I have been playing all night.

________

After I paused the game, the times are shown correctly, 2.8 hours. I think this solves the problem, but it's still strange. So now I'm looking forward to the rest of the game, I was afraid this was a scam to prevent me from returning the game.

When you start the game Ubisoft Connect starts first and it likely keeps running after exiting the game. Maybe its process is counted as game still running? It doesn't happen on Windows but who knows if it's different on Linux/Lutris. Try closing Ubisoft Connect manually.
