does anyone else hate the modern scenes.
from AC1 to origins it annoyed me to no end when i was taken out of being a badass pirate, stealthy assassin moving through boston, or exploring the pyramids. and was sat down and forced to walk and do a stupid objective for 15 minutes. why couldnt they have just made a game where you play as the assassin.

i think the better solution would have been if the player chose to skip the modern bits to just play a cutscene summing up what was missed. that way you could keep the player invested in what they were more interested in instead of forcing them onto a linear path. some bits should have been forced just because of the story but most should have been skippable.

This is one of the most common complaints about these games.

I liked it, personally. At least, up through 3. When they started making them those first person self-insert parts, I wasn't as fond of it.

yeah. i just always found the games fun and immersive and then they take you out of that and into a non cmbat exploration. if there was combat that was new. and interesting im sure it would be loved.

The game would be no different without the modern scenes. It’d probably be better

Some had more of this than others. Some platforming or a fight here and there. But for the most part, you're just walking around listening to dialog, yeah.

Nah, I disagree. I liked the sci-fi flavor it added and the persistent characters.

but it was a area of an action game with no action. if they added forms of combat that were new, or added something special. then it wouldnt be bad. its just the same exact ♥♥♥♥ but modern day. i would like it if they added some interesting stuff. thats why black flag was alright. becuase the modern day stuff was new and interesting.

Exactly. Why take me away from being a badass assassin to just walk around a cave
