The FTC should investigate these "remaster" scams

Re-releasing titles rebranded with a "remastered" label with minimal effort from small teams that can be done by a few modders is a scam at best. Regardless if the original games are subjectively good or bad, these titles should never be more than $5-10. This was done to release an old game into the public to cash in on the name and consumer ignorance - for $40.

Regardless of Ubisoft's armies of community managers telling everyone how this is worth the money, it is only clearly taking advantage of consumers.

These kinds of anti-consumer practices and clear abuse of those not following the industry need to be reported imo. Do not support AAA companies doing these scams! Stand up for your consumer rights!

Mate, you are insulting modders, usually with mods game looks better, not worse like with these shoddy remasters. And anyone who is buying ubisoft games at this point deserves every bad thing, it's fair. Nobody forced people to buy them.

No offense intended to the OP at all, but I agree completely with this. After FC5 / New Dawn, and the recent AC games, anything Ubisoft releases I fully expect to be loaded up on performance-impacting DRM (which doesn't prevent piracy), lacking multi-gpu support, full of microtransactions, riddled with bugs and / or any host of other things that makes the game feel like an alpha test version of the game that they're charging some ridiculous price tag for.

Definitely won't be paying anywhere near full price for a Ubisoft game anytime in the near future. I've learned my lesson.
