Now this is getting annoying
The other day I finished recruiting the 3 assassins from Boston, but 2 of them (Duncan Little and Clipper Wilkinson) seem to don't wield any weapon. That leads to them dying in every engaging because they can only use their fists and don't even pick up any weapon or musket from the ground.
Today I finished recruiting the other 3 assassins from New York and the same story, 2 of them (Jacob Zenger and Jamie Colley) don't wield their respective weapons. Only Deborah Carter and Stephan Chapheau do, I begin to see a pattern here: only assassins with small weapons like them are able to use their weapons, while the others with swords and heavy weapons don't.
You can clearly see in the following screenshots that only Deborah and Stephan have their knives.
This is really annoying, 4/6 assassins are nearly useless in fighting, I hope they adress this issue soon enough

I already did. Duncan, Stephan and Clipper are at max lvl. This never happened to me in the original game, they all had their weapons from the start.

Thanks for answering. I already reached support like a week ago, and they told me that they'll pass the info to the support team. Let's hope they'll be able to patch it.

Did they fix this? Because it happens the same to me.

Haven't played the game again since I finished it in 2019 so idk, but if it still happens to you, then yeah, they never fixed it.

It is a bug exclusive to the remastered version of the game. Your assassin recruits only get their weapons if YOU also own the weapon either by purchasing from a store or crafting.

Recruits wield different weapons depending on their levels, which is why some people report that training fixes the issue, but only if you HAVE the weapons they use at their level, if that makes sense.

This is extremely annoying because some weapons they use are not unlocked until sequence 10, so you really cannot utilise your recruits in the remaster until the game almost ends.

Ubisoft has not fixed the issue despite it already being present and reported when the game was first released, and they never will fix it. So we (the players) either have to suck it up or play the original AC3 instead.

Hello there Randy8, Tiudyr645 and tiger199835,

I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered issues with your Assassin recruits in the Remastered version of Assassin's Creed III. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us.

As this game is no longer under active development, we are unable to guarantee that any issues currently encountered in-game will be fixed. I understand that this may not be the answer you were hoping for, and apologise for any impact that this issue has had on your gaming experience.

I'd like to assure you that these reports have been forwarded to the dedicated teams so they are aware of them. If there are any future updates released for Assassin's Creed III Remastered, then this information will be shared on our official platforms.

In the meantime, I would suggest trying the workaround shared by tiger199835, and ensuring that you own the weapons that your recruits are trying to use at their current level.

If there is anything else we can help you out with, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks,

- Ubisoft Support

It is not guaranteed that the issues will be fixed but the game is still being sold. How come Ubisoft sells a buggy game in the market and demands money for it. I love the whole franchise and this bug is really annoying.

Recruits missing weapon bug is a big issue. Please fix the game as soon as possible.

It has been over 4 years since I encountered this glitch, the game never got any update so it'll never be fixed. Glad I got this de-master for free with the golden edition of Odyssey, otherwise I wouldn't even have bothered trying it out

You are really lucky to have the original. I don't want it to be fixed anymore. Just make the original game available in Steam WITH THE DLC's.

These problems make Ubisoft look like a game development company which is located in a house garage and they don't have enough resources to work on their other projects. They can only work on a project one at a time.

It looks like 4/6 of them are using hidden blades as weapons, maybe (you can see them in the Assassin recruit menu). Only Stephan and Deborah have a small weapon to use.
