Something in relation to the end (Spoilers)
During the "Where are they now" kind of thing, will your lowest two always leave? Or is there a way to keep all of them around? I tried playing a few times and no matter what, two would always leave in the end. I felt I kept everyone pretty even one time, but I guess not :(

That's good to know! I didn't pick friendship only yet (I'll likely do so in my next playthrough, but I wanted to do a romance one first), but I'm glad there's some way for everyone to stick around. I really like everyone. Made me so sad when two would leave :(

I didn't really feel sad that they left and it seemed like they went on with their life to do other things. Mind you every one of my friends from school left and went on to do other things so I may just have normalized it.

That honestly annoys me. Why do I have to sacrifice love just to keep all my best friends around?

Its a case of time, you don't have enough time to hang out with everyone and you have to hangout with your bf/gf/so even more. How many people do you think Teo loses each day?

In general, I think it depends on how people handle friendships. I have people I don't talk to as often due to life being busy, but we're still just as close and meet up when we can--we don't really move on completely with no updates on things.

just by being me, the only ones who "left" were Mr Pinball and that DDR Guy, I guess they are not fan of mr gutsy

After getting the 100% i found that the two ones that left are not those who you passed less time with, but those who value the trait that you ditched most. For example, by being me and ditching logics both Mr Pinball and mr DDR left but by being the total opposite the ones that left were Ashley and Queen Bee (good riddance with queen bee, she has a nice body but her personality makes me drives me off since first impressions, Also in terms of looks, your roomie Junipper is the hottest one). The other one that may leave will appear at the time you have to save somebody from getting shoot, if you don't take the bullet for this, (s)he will leave else it will switch to another target.
So here would be a list of who may leave

1.- less steady: Gavin and Teo/Ashley
2.- less kindly: Percy and Gavin/Naomi
3.- less quirky: Teo and Ashley/Percy
4.- less gutsy: Queen Bee and Teo/Naomi

Neither Naomi or Percy appear as possible targets, i think this is because how the first chapters were handled (with Naomi giving you her lunch and Percy suffering a Hearth attack)
The only time that time spent matters is at the broadwalk, where you can change your affection target if you play your cards right, except if you are aiming for Junipper, then you have to not favor any discussion (got the friendship ending three times because i sided with Ashley at skeeball and queen bee at voleyball, but hey, the ball was out if it hits me) and always aim for kindness, if you are either too steady or too gutsy you are not getting the option to romance her.

I don't think this is entirely accurate. In my first playthrough, Gavin and Teo were the ones that left but steady was my second highest stat, and gutsy was my lowest. Gavin and Teo were the two that I had the least relationship points with, so it seems that's the main influencer. The game even said that Gavin didn't find what he was looking for at the arcade and Teo didn't have enough of a connection with anyone to stick around.

Yeah I had Naomi and Teo leave on my first play-through. Heartbreaking since I was trying to set one of them up with another. Good to know I didn't ♥♥♥♥ up somehow and two people leave you regardless if you pursue a romance.

But in my playthrough, naomi ended up with gavin. Is it possible to pair her up with teo? Anyway, in my playthrough, teo and ashley left. But quirky was my third highest. but maybe i spent too much time with queen bee, cause i wanted her to end up with ari. i don't know

I was looking for this question! Maybe it's more "realistic" for you to eventually lose people as friends, but it certainly is much sadder. Also... it just felt out of character for them- the first time I played, I lost Ashley and Queen Bee, which was a bit jarring since they both said how much they loved me (as a friend) and how much I had changed their lives for the better right before I left for the warehouse. Less then half an hour later, the game says "We were never close" about Ashley and "she just used as as a stepping stone of success" for Queen Bee. Honestly, that is my only complaint about the game- let me keep all of my friends!

On a side note, I think the two who leave are those with the least "affection levels". I edited the same game save using Rephy save editor, and changed it to give Teo and Gavin the lowest affection, and they were the ones who left. Also, it doesn't matter how high the affection is- I gave them all 20+ affection when I edited the save, and two still left in the end.

Good riddance, she is toxic as ♥♥♥♥.
