Buyer beware: Main Character Look
FYI for anyone looking to buy, even though the description for the game says "Design your own character from the ground up" you can't change the way your character actually looks. You can change hair style, some colors and the pronoun they go by (He, her, they). But even if you make them a he they still have a VERY feminine face. I was hoping to look more like the big dude who was in the game. It looks like they made this to have a female protag but put the pronoun option in to appease people who would prefer to play as a dude rather than the character actually looking anything like a dude.

We designed the character to be androgynous, actually, not specifically feminine. The thing is your character appears in many scenes throughout the game, and has to be re-drawn and chopped into colorable, customizable layers each and every time. That takes a good chunk of the art budget to do, so we couldn't provide a whole lot of torso or face changing options.

However, we are taking this into account moving forward with future games, and have some ideas for how we can allow a greater range of customization in our next projects. Thanks for your feedback!

So you admit you designed your characters a certain way then claim otherwise? Scary stuff.

I like the pronoun idea but I do wish I could customize them more and make them look more like my vision.

I'm not sure I follow exactly why that's scary...?

OP was claiming we originally intended protag to be feminine and then changed our mind. I was pointing out that no, that's not the case at all. The protag was designed to not adhere visually to ANY particular gender. Yes, the default pronoun option starts at She but that's user-changable to whatever you want.

Believe me, if we had the budget, we'd LOVE to have had a wide range of options! (And the pronoun option doesn't change that fact. The pronoun option cost literally $0.00 development dollars. But art does cost.)

What are your pronouns?

Just make the protag a "wannabe K-pop:steamhappy: male idol" appearance like I did then you have it fixed!

Tbh I dont think the protagonist looks female per se. You can notice they tried to make it look unisex. I played as a girl/she pronoun but to me it looked quite manly as well. I think a good solution is either just decide on a female/Male protagonist with ONE proper Sprite or just 2 completely different sprites, one for a Male and female. An unisex character just feels weird and not properly done (it's either a super tomboy or tomgirl)

Not sure how much I actually disliked it, but I can say I had two or three moments in which I was thinking about the looks of the char and how it worked with the situation and whatever else that was important to me.

I guess more options in the future would be nice yes. Her face is more or less alright, the hairstyle....I wasn't exactly sure what to use to make her look more female or male.
The chest...while not the most important thing here, it made my "girl" look like a guy a few times.

Yes my first comment was "it worked for me", but I have to admit i questioned the choice in the character creator once in a while.

Oh while I'm at it, can I save several playthroughs or is the game only collecting the data from one character I made?

yup! I have to say most of the time it didn't bother me too much either, but it does when the MC is fully displayed, when she was wearing a dress it felt VERY off, the same for romantic CGs
I'm not saying it's a bad game because of it but I was very disappointed because the rest of the sprites were drawn so well. While the MC looked neither male or female.... I wouldn't even mind playing as a male character.

I'll admit the Genderless look of the character removed the entire fun of picking a gender for me. Customization was what got me excited to demo the game, and ultimately the reason I didn't buy it. Everyone else in the story didn't suffer from that issue and looked great. I felt left out.

I love inclusiveness and options. But in catering to all flavors it ended up being flavorless. I just couldn't get into my own protaganist. That said, I fully understand buget restrictions and I'll definately keep an eye out for your future projects.

I do wish there were more customization options, clothes, maybe a few more hair options, maybe a few pyshical frames (builds) But I get it, your trying to use as little art assets as possible, but the whole issue with making your character is, you hardly see them, which is a bummer I hope in part 2 (if that's not a joke) you will get to see your character more often, and have a better character creation, customization system

feminine? i think the main character looks like a boy

^ I think that is entirely dependent on the eyes of the beholder. In this case, the look could pass as both, but in the end of the day, it comes across as bland because they can be both. IE, if you're a person that wants to play as a man, you may think the avatar looks to feminine, but if you're a person that wants to play as a woman, it comes across as too masculine. So it ends up having a hard time pleasing either group.

After buying this game on a whim, I will admit that having "customize your character" should be removed, as this is hardly customization from a physical perspective and doesn't add much to the game.

In my opinion, op needs glasses. Because the mc looks like a guy, his face has many features from both teo and Gavin. Also, when cosplaying as maid it always looks like crossplay. If he finds the MC feminine, I wish I know where in the world is OP, so I keep the ♥♥♥♥ out of there if girls look like that
