Community Discord Is Hurting the Game – A Call for Better Moderation and Safer
I’ve been part of the Last Oasis community for a while now, and I’ve got to say—it’s heartbreaking to see how much potential this game has, only to be held back by the very spaces meant to support it.

One of the biggest issues? The official Last Oasis Discord. Moderators like Genkohai and others have created an environment that feels less like a community and more like a high school clique. Instead of fostering productive discussions or helping new players, many of the mods seem more focused on gatekeeping, silencing criticism, and acting in childish, petty ways. It’s unprofessional, and it reflects poorly on the game.

What’s worse is the blatant disregard for community safety. There have been multiple instances where highly inappropriate and even disturbing content has been flagged—stuff that shouldn't even exist in a gaming community—and yet, reports are brushed off or ignored entirely. This creates an unsafe environment for players, especially younger ones, and it’s unacceptable.

This isn’t just a case of people being “too sensitive” or not liking the rules. It's about a moderation team that actively undermines the game’s commercial success by driving away potential fans with toxicity, inconsistency, and, frankly, immaturity. How can a game grow when its main community hub is seen as hostile or unsafe?

If Last Oasis wants a chance to succeed long-term, there needs to be a serious reevaluation of the people put in charge of the community. Devs need to hear us. We need accountability, transparency, and most of all—a safe, welcoming space for players to enjoy the game and help it grow.

Has anyone else experienced this? Let’s talk about it—not to stir up drama, but because we care about the future of this game.

They have always been this way, and is one of the many reasons so many players left this dumpster fire

Discord is a disgrace for the gaming in general.
You know at least one of the new devs was a mod first.
Does this make you more or less upset?

It won't phase me at all when the servers shut down and the game stops selling on steam.
I hate to say this but many times those in charge on Discord are also in charge here too. So expect that when/if they see or hear of this that action is taken.
You may be better off trying to put that in a thread in DIscord and tag at least 2 devs to it. You may get scolded by mods, even muted for a while.
In my opinion moderators often make friends with a certain loud group. It is that group then decides the tone of the Discord server. So if there are many unhappy with this game then that would be the flavor of the server. Not easy from what I have learned talking to devs and Community Managers to find mature honest admins willing to put in the volunteer time. Add to it that this game is going back to PVP where a lot of behavioral issues come up and now you are added more difficulty. PVP is usually toxic because people take it extremely serious like it is their life depending on it. Saw this come when they said they were going back to PVP. Though PVP is cheaper because the NPC enemy in this game will slowly get phased out. PVPers never do well with those enemies and claim they are aimbots no matter how dumb they are.

He was never a mod. Don't be like that. and reverse engineering a dev kit would earn my respect too.
