Grapple/Wingsuit needs nerfing
How often do you see people sit on the edge of a building or rock, or even in plain sight, take a fight, hit a few times or get hit only to grapple away. I do love the grapple mechanic in this game, but it is very OP in the way it is used.

It would be nice if you get hit once then your grapple and wingsuit is stunned.. Or the lower your hp is, then the harder it is to sprint, grapple or fly, to replicate being injured. You shouldnt be able to run, grapple, or fly at full speed if you arent at full health.

And only being able to fly properly between 80-100% health. If you get fall damage, then you cant fly for a minute.

I think rebalancing of these things would help a lot towards pvp and pve, people wouldnt attempt griefing so much if it was harder for them. And in pvp you would have to be more strategic in your approach. What do you think?

you might be on to something, but this solution needs more ideas, any one?

Bring back the grapple slow but make it the slow that also stops gliders on a global cooldown like once every minute so people can't spam it like on season 1

If I would be the game designer I would probably remove the current wingsuit+ grapple mechanic to level the melee skill ceiling a lot. But keep grappling hooks in a reduced efficiency to grapple up onto walkers.
- its probably the number 1 too for griefing
- it raises the combat skill ceiling too much
- wingsuit movement conflicts with the pace of walker movement

Yes, wingsuit + grapple is super fancy, but a (pvp)-balancing nightmare. As simple as that.
Fortunatly Im not a game designer here, but as game designer I also wouldnt run my product into the wall like this in the first place. =)

i dont think it would be a nightmare to rebalance. I mean they have different types of grapples you can use, so its a pretty easy thing to modify.

I like it because it definately seperates itself from other games. Perhaps if you could only use all grapples using torque and/or using more stamina drain than it does currently. That would make more sense instead of having an unlimited grapple reel?

You can also grapple and fly faster across the map than using a walker. Although its fun to do, i'm not sure that you should be able to do that.

I wouldn't want them to limit grappling and wingsuiting, as those 2 are some of the coolest mechanics in game. Would love to see an actual "chase" mechanic though. Maybe cheap, easy to make insect bombs, throwable, that have a nice AOE, do no damage or very small amount of damage, but prevent/interrupt grappling/wingsuit for 10 seconds anyone caught within that area to prevent escape or to knock someone out of the air. I also suggested mountable beehives to go on ships, that can be reused, hit it with something and an area around is swarming with insects preventing grappling for 10 seconds or so (maybe limited charges, like insects for ammo).

I am starting to think the wing suits were a mistake. They are cool and in theory the do allow individuals escape large groups except now the pursuers have them as well and now use them to gank people on ships with little to no warning.

People using them do not have to invest much into the game as far as materials and ships. All they need is a FOB and a suit and swords they have no vested interest in the game and very little to lose and everything to gain.

Thinking on this I come to understand that does break the balance in the game as individuals and clans who do not do this invest a lot of time and effort into the game and risk losing the results of all those efforts. Wing suits with a FOB risk very little.

I do like that idea lol maybe have a throwable beehive with aoe. But that would also harm you and friends aswel lol

Currently the insect bomb doesnt stop enemy from still staying on mountable weapons, and does no damage. If it could demount, de grapple, and maybe prevent healing for 1 minute that would be pretty cool

Nets should be able to throw on people and stop them moving for sure. With not as big of an animation as they have now before throwing.

I'm glad the devs don't listen to anything on these forums. These are all bad ideas and reeks of people who get ganked a lot because they don't know how to defend themselves.

The problem is they thought they fixed it, which for noobs if you get hit you will have a delay before being able to grapple. An experienced player knows the work around. You simply just quick block once after being hit and you can use a grapple to escape a bad situation.

Have seen many fights get drug out longer than they should because of this, and it makes rating and griefing an easy play style to do.

Currently either learn how to do it back. Or play something else until its changed. I went with the first option.

Yes you can just block and grapple away. But thats the issue, you shouldnt be able to be getting hit, and grapple away so easily. Their should be some punishment for taking damage and still having max running, max grapple speed, or grapple healing

Thinking about it maybe part of the answer would be to make grappling like that drain stamina much faster. As it is stamina is a dump stat, make it where if you chose that style of combat you would need to invest into the stamina stat to the detriment in one of the other stats. I don't know if that alone would fix the issue but I think it would help.

Also have moving through the air at high speed treated as walking or running in that stamina regain much slower while in motion. This I think may cause a heavy investment into stamina if you want to do that play-style.

Thats a good point since stamina is pretty much a useless stat as it is atm. Majority of players in SEA are running at least 20 in mob while the fighters are stacked all in health. I like that idea
