Player count per server?
I cannot find this info anywhere. I don't have the game yet. Is this a lame 40-player game like ARK, or a real 10,000 player game like LiF and Atlas? Pls advise.

100. Ark has 70 slots per default and Atlas 150. But both are technically the same game so they start lagging to hell from 40+ players. LO uses the same pseudo-mmo concept like Ark/Atlas by linking standard game servers together. Gets into problems when a lot of players/walkers are fighting (~30+). LIF:mmo is an open-world approach instead.

LiF: MMO and Atlas allow thousands of players in the world. The precise server architecture doesn't bother me, I just want to know how many players I am in the world with. Ark has 70. That's not good enough for me. Does Last Oasis really only have 100? I was hoping it would have thousands like LiF and Atlas.

100 for Medium tiles.
150 for hard.

So no one knows how many LO servers are linked, or even if they are linked at all? And the devs avoid talking about this and there's no official word on it? Why is it being kept secret?

It appears your question has been answered. All servers/tiles/hex's are connected so you can get to where any other player is at by traveling in game, technically, or just spawning in naked.

To see the Total number of players in game at any given moment go to the LO community page in Steam and it tells you. That number represents, for this game anyways, everyone in game together at one time who have the ability to interact with each other.

This game is not like ARK or Atlas (I dont think anyways i dont play them). There are no static single servers that exist. Its like EVE. The entire universe is connected. People use the word "server" in this game loosely. Technically it is a server, but that server represents a hex on the entire map of the universe and you can freely travel between any of them.

Here is what the world map looks like. Every hex you see is a server. And as a player you can travel in between them on a walker or by spawning in naked on any hex you want.

They are all linked to specifically answer your question. But you did not phrase your original question very well either. You should have opened with "I haven't bought the game yet.."

Cuz you just sound like an ass hat with most of what you say. You assume the game is one way before asking the question of "how does the game work" and it makes you look stupid. Its like your afraid to ask the question you really want the answer to so you take the longest way around it to get there.

While I knew what you meant to say your question was perfect is a long shot.

If you weren't a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ yourself you would have seen that you got a perfectly succinct answer from the first reply by another person who pieced together what you really meant from your question. Your incomprehension of the first reply is further evidence to your smooth brain.

Edit: The info can be found in the games wiki for a quick answer and further explained in the Last Oasis videos on their youtube.
A quote from the wiki, https://lastoasis.gamepedia.com/Last_Oasis
Travel and Explore an MMO-sized World
The world consists of many interconnected oases, forming a large open world. Potentially a thousand oases exist simultaneously - the number automatically adjusts to accommodate the size of the playerbase. Each Oasis is over 100 km2. Explore them to reveal new and unique biomes while plundering their limited resources. Some nomads may pitstop to refill their water. Others will settle for some time, but ultimately everyone will pick up and voyage east to escape the encroaching Sun.

Well a steam level 45 and the fact you're asking questions that are answered in the store page reflects who the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is that needs a life.
Due to lack of understanding of this game and intelligence by obviously not reading or watching the development teams videos before posting here. Yes, your question is worded wrong and the answers were correct.
All official servers are linked and you can travel between all of them with everything you or your clan has, you can go against everyone in the world that plays this game on official servers at any time but worst case is it will be you against 149 others 24/7 due to each server has a population cap.

I know you think youre pretty smart, but Ark has tons of the official servers linked, as has Atlas and LO. Same tech. You can thank me now.
