Quality Obsidian?

Is it possible to obtain quality obsidian? Is it going to be like clay where you just have to randomly search for it in random spots?

There are quality Obsidian rocks on crater/asteroid maps. I'm just unsure if you can harvest them or not, they seem to be in the area right around the center, but out from the green area in the sand. I've used master pickaxes but only get stone from them. Are these intended to be harvestable?

you can get high lvl obsidian from crater maps. i have 2 patches of 80+ on mine.. ♥♥♥♥ drop rate though you might get between 2-10 from the 2 patches every 24 hrs
