tier 4 pickaxe does not take iron, maybe u mean tier 5 ?
You have the tier 2 axe, needs bone splinters, you have the tier 3 axe needs bone splinters and bone glue,. and tier 4 which needs ceramic, all tier 4 need ceramic i am fairly sure, i have yet to see any tier 5 recipies, but again, maybe i read it wrong
When I mentioned Tiers, I mean the number you can see when you hover your mouse over tools.
There is a small white pickaxe icon you can see at the bottom of the status panel. the number next to it should be the "tool Tier ". same with other tools.
In most cases, the max quality you can harvest with the tool is (Tier number) x20, which is 20 for the bone pickaxe, and 40 with ceramic pickaxe.
Only the iron pickaxe has a tool Tier 4 which means it can harvest quality 80 stones.
However I see streamers' clans have quality 80 stones and ships without iron pickaxe and that's where I am confused.
When i hover over the axe that i create with ceramic it tells me it is tier 4, i think you have your tiers confused.
That's right, ceramic axe tool tier is 4, but its not the ceramic pickaxe, my man.
Woodcutter is lvl 20
rawbone is 40
heavy rawbone is 60
advanced hatchet is 80
You can check this on all tools below speed. It'll be a symbol and a number.
You can gather above these soft caps if you can make a tool higher quality then what it is "allowed" to collect. A lvl 64 ceramic pickaxe will gather lvl 57 stone. So if you bang out the highest ceramic pickaxe possible, you can get better quality stone.
We managed to build an Iron pickaxe, but that is with 50-60 people from the start of the game until about a week ago to build it lmao.
Toolcap = (TierCap + ToolQuality ) / 2
