The second event happend two times in three days. I was stuck and could not get out of my ship. The 'F' would not even come up. I think you should be able to always have the flip and exit keys. Whatever routine they have for determining when to give it to you is a dead end routine and does not execute.
The first time i killed myself spawned in the legs and had to kill myself again. Finally, I was able to get me gear while a Rupu attacked my walker. The walker moved just a little and let me back in. The second time I killed my self and I respawned next to it. No flip key so I entered it to see if I could drive it out and then I was never given the F key again. Luckily someone reminded me of safe log and was not under attack so that worked.
I mean walkers are expensive investments to lose a quality walker no matter how small to a bugginess like this is a quitting frustration level.
The only thing you can do is get someone to hit it with another walker and move it. This helped on one occasion. The other two that was not possible.
your title is just crap.
One time was problematic, like someone mentioned was tilted slightly to the point where could not get in or out. (Pretty sure it was could not get in.... because if I was in then would have wiggled it out). So moving slowly by holding direction wasn't an option. That one time had to bump it with another walker. But that's pretty rare.
The very shape of the dinghy (lowest hull) makes it a pain to use in uneven terrrains wherein it can easily get stuck, happenned to me a few times to no other fix than ramming it hard with another walker.
If you find your toon stuck on the walker controls, try sheathing the item you currently have active. This tends to work.
Spider much?
