Is traveling back to Cradle possible?

First of all, I got no water on my walker so I cannot travel to any other oasis.
So I tried to reenter Cradle, but it keeps failing (nothing happens after the transition phase finished).

once you leave you cannot go back.
you would have to delete your char and start again.

Right now i believe its due to server issues.. on launch day i left my starting cradle (using safe logout is considered leaving and disables protected item slots) and was able to log back into the starting oasis twice after that. Haven't been able to log back in since, but that is because of server issues, such as you mentioned where it gives no error. Once issues are fixed you should be able to return and gather water to move on.

You logged out of cradle but you did not travel to new oasis. As long as you do not travel, you can keep logging in to the starting oasis. Once you travel to new Oasis, you cannot go back and the game even gives you a warning to tell you this.

The purpose, once you actually leave to a new area, is to stop higher level people from going back to starter areas and harassing new players.

Yes, I clicked the button says "logged out into the lobby" (I believe it says something similar to this). A moment ago, I tried to delete my character, but it wasn't successful due to some "server issues".

Also I would say that the non-starter maps are vastly bigger in size. So, although it sounds daunting launching yourself into a map with possibly another 99 players...the maps are so big its quite easy to travel from one end to the other and not be noticed (in small walkers)

You should be able to log back into it then, once the server issues et fixed. Already done it twice, so unless they changed it so folks can no longer safely log out of and back into the starter oasis you should still be able to. There is a message on the login screen saying they are slowly implementing a fix on servers, so sometime soon we can hope to actually do some traveling (which includes traveling back to where you logged out of).

servers are still unstable.

Technically yes, maybe. If you craft two walkers, you can leave one in the cradle and go back to it after travelling to a new oasis.
