Right click Return to Castle wolfenstein in steam: Local Folder Tab : Browse Local Folder.
Now you're in rtcw folder: Open wolfconfig.cfg: Press alt F: Enter Full screen: Click Find: Then behind the Full Screen command line you see this GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST"
seta r_finish "0"
seta r_dlightBacks "1"
seta r_dynamiclight "0"
seta r_drawSun "1"
seta r_fastsky "0"
seta r_ignoreGLErrors "1"
seta r_flares "1"
seta r_lodbias "0"
seta r_lodCurveError "250"
seta r_ignoreFastPath "1"
seta r_smp "0"
seta r_subdivisions "4"
seta r_vertexLight "0"
seta r_simpleMipMaps "1"
seta r_customaspect "1"
seta r_customheight "1024"
seta r_customwidth "1600"
seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_mode "10"
seta r_ignorehwgamma "1"
seta r_overBrightBits "1"
seta r_depthbits "24"
seta r_stencilbits "0"
seta r_stereo "0"
seta r_colorbits "32"
seta r_texturebits "32"
seta r_detailtextures "1"
seta r_rmse "0.0"
seta r_roundImagesDown "1"
seta r_picmip "1"
seta r_ext_texture_env_add "1"
seta r_nv_fogdist_mode "GL_EYE_RADIAL_NV"
seta r_ext_NV_fog_dist "0"
seta r_ext_textu

Change seta r_customheight "1024" to "768"
Change seta r_customwidth "1600" to "1024"
Change seta r_mode "10" to "4"

then save wolfconfig.cfg

Start game

Do the same for wolfconfig_mp.cfg

r_customheight and r_customwidth are ignored if r_mode isn't set to -1.

Typing /modelist in console will list all the r_mode values with their correspondant resolution by the way

Here's step by step.

1. go to your steam library and right click return to castle wolfenstein
2. click properties -> local files and open the game's directory
3. when you're in the game's folder, press CTRL+F (search) and type in "wolfconfig" (you will have to start the game at least once, also multiplayer and singleplayer have 2 different files for config so the multiplayer one is named "wolfconfig_mp")
4. after you have opened the wolfconfig file via notepad, press CTRL+F again and type in "r_customheight".
5. Change the height and width that's accurate to your monitor, most common resolution is 1920x1080, i don't know what res is your monitor tho.
6. CTRL+F once again and search for "r_mode" and change it from 10 to -1.
7. that's all, have fun.

Steam version is GotY version (1.32) which include MP maps, so depends on your CD; but all patches can be found online
