search on the game directory for wolfconfig.cfg and delete it, or open it and search for:
r_mode and set it to "-1", and then set r_customwidth and r_customheight to your preferred resolution

any cfg file can be opened with a text editor, like wordpad

The top stable resolution you can pick in the base game is 1024x768 (4:3). If you set it to anything higher than that, it'll crash. Changing the resolution to anything higher through the wolfconfig.cfg file will work temporarily, but it will also cause the game to crash at the end of certain levels, notably level 3, the Tram Ride where you meet Kessler.

For stable widescreen and modern native resolution support, there's the RealRTCW mod, ioRTCW source port[github.com], and the Knightmare 1.42 patch. Otherwise, continue playing at 1024x768 and you won't experience any problems.

Wrong, it's only a matter of supported resolution by your screen

People just select the highest with a height of 1200, and wide screens rarely supports beyond 1080

Good to know actually, I kinda figured that. So as long as the height isn't higher than the user's monitor, they can go as high as they want?

Yes, as long as it stays inbound

Thanks a lot, I'll note that going forward.
