Does anyone still play this online?

I have very fond memories of playing this game back in the early 2000's. The online multiplayer was an incredible and, back then, original experience.

Can someone verify if the multiplayer community is still active and maybe provide some details about it?

I do sometimes, but i play the non-steam free Wolfenstien ET. Im a member of a clan who has a nice server that is generally active

Well, the clan i play with has its dead and alive hours. Alive can be somthing like 30 vs 30 with 1 or 2 bots, a dead hour will be 3-6 on each team not including bots, the server also has seasonal updates, around xmas all the players have Xmas hats and the health and ammo has bows on it. around halloween, the allies are zombies and the knife is a huge spear, aswell as custom maps

I use to play it way back when, hard to believe people still play it. I recall it being free though....? Can steam players play with non steam players with manuel ip input?

the rtcw community is split into to groups people who play 1.0 and people who play 1.4. there are server list fixies 1.0 still has steady dm servers while 1.4 still has cups a alienware one just passed before xmas i belive. also 3v3 cup comming alot of high skill comp in this game * well seasoned players we are always looking for more people to play with log on facebook and and wolfpug if you need help or anything

the simple answer to your question is yes.
there is mainly one server left on 1.4: ECGNetwork

there is still a decent amount of players and admins. very crowded on weekend nights.

I'ld say.. With both versions evenings are best. Currently on 1.4 is ECG Objective populated mainly 7-7 to 16-16 ppl and ToaK Greenhorn Obj also has up to 10 players next to bots. On 1.0 there's AoDdm and Fun Obj with both like 6v6 up to 12v12 and often a Noob's Revenge/Beach server with the same amount of ppl. Plus in TrickJump servers also some wander around.. I recommend both versions next to eachother.
