The competitive multiplayer mode was largely the same with a couple of additional maps that didn't make their way to the PC (3 I believe, Safe, Norway & Barn) as well as the new pump action shotgun. I believe only Soldiers and Engineers could use it but I'm not sure. I literally got an old XBox a few months before XBox Live was shut down for the original XBox so I had a fairly limited time to play it online.
I eventually caved in and bought a cheap used original XBox to play it. Alternatively if you have a XBox 360 its also compatible with it, but runs a bit clunky with the emulation.
If you do decide to get the console version, get the XBox version as its superior to the PS 2 version (no shotgun or coop in PS2 and the hardware isnt as powerful so levels chopped up more).
Do NOT buy the console version to see the new multiplayer maps. You can't even sign into XBox live anymore so theres no way to even start a map by yourself to see what they looked like.
The Wikipedia compatibility list says "unplayable", but that's quite vague.

Since 2010.
Well that's what I'm curious about. Is it "emulated" in a playable state on the 360 as well? Did anyone try it?
