Hi,
I dont know what I have to download of these things! :/

Latest version at the top, if you don't know if your system is either 32 or 64 bits take the 32 bits one (it's the one with no x64, just x86)

in which folder i have to put the files in?
TreesRBad Oct 4, 2015 @ 12:47pm
Yea Where do they go?
>M@tEo$< Oct 4, 2015 @ 1:02pm
Where you have the binaries (EXE and DLL files).

For Steam convenience you can rename the old files or back them up somewhere else, and rename the new ones like the old ones, so you can easily start them and track hours/screens.

Read the answers...
Your instructions are really vague and not helpful. I downloaded the 64 bit for my 64 bit machine and I have everything I need, but I don't know what to do with it.

Ah yes, I see the missing step: browse the game files (usually C:\Progam Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\return to castle wolfenstein\), and extract the ZIP file...
I found a better help guide that told me to change the r_mode to "4" in the wolfconfig.cfg file. The game runs again.

That's probably mine :P Or referenced elsewhere

The one I gave in this thread is a permanent and better fix, as this source port does natively support recent resolutions (not only 4/3), and will not trigger this crash upon changing the resolution :)

So I unzipped everything into the Return to Castle Wolfenstein folder and let it replace any files with the same name. I then went back to Steam and tried running the game again, and I just got another OpenGL error and the game wouldn't start.

On top of that, I now have a bunch of files from 2007 regarding Visual Basic in one of my C: folders.

I realize it was kind of dumb of me to just download something and attempt to run it (I did scan it and it seemed fine), but is this your file, or a copy from elsewhere? And is there a way to tell it's legit?

I'm worried now that I just installed God knows what onto my computer, considering nothing changed with the game but I now have a bunch of extra files.

Were the .zip files supposed to go in each individual RTCW folder where there's a corresponding file with the same name? Or could they all go in the main folder?

I took a look at all of the README's, but they just pertained to people who want to modify the files further or set up servers for multiplayer, none of which I'm interested in -- I just want to play singleplayer on 1366x768.

Please tell me I didn't just install some kind of phishing virus, or any virus.
