Blade Of Agony makes me wish for Wolfenstein series to return back to World War II.

I've played last month WolfenDoom: Blade Of Agony which took inspirations primarily from RTCW and other classical shooters. What can I say? I had blast with this game, considering the fact that this was done on old Doom engine that devs somehow managed to push it to technical standpoint despite the engine's limitations. If you are fan of older Wolfenstein, this is definitely must-play.

I think that devs did a great job of understanding of what a good Wolfenstein game should been and delivered what every fan wants. I'm count a few:

• A good mixture RTCW and Wolf3D gameplay
  
• Bringing back classic enemies and bosses from Wolf3D games, while also making them more threatening and dangerous
  
• Good range of locations that are both look impressive and are fun to explore. (Tunis, Paris, Norway etc.)
  
• Simple, but interesting plot that'll probably keep you hooked on. I won't spoil what the stuff is, but if you played RTCW and Wolf 2009 you know what you're getting into.

I don't know guys, just aftering playing Blade Of Agony, I found never games to look pale in comparasion to BoA. Aside the whole interesting "germs winning ww2" idea, I found the world-building to be severely underdeveloped and it missed all kinds of fun stuff that was present in older Wolfenstein, especially the last two games that basically felt it was, how should I describe, very anti-Wolfenstein and started moving series in wrong direction.

BoA itself serves a reminder of what Wolfenstein games were about and makes me wish the series to go back to it's roots. I hope someone in future will take Blade Of Agony as inspiration and make next Wolfenstein game more truer to the series roots. Any thoughts?

BoA is basically RTCW2 on doom engine. I hope to see more games like RTCW and Wolf2009 in this game series.

I think 09 was the best wolfenstein game, shame we'll never get anything like it again.

No other weapon in series will beat Tesla Gun. The spinning animation is so satisfying.

I do hope that Tesla Gun will come back in third and final episode of BoA, considering that teaser trailer of final episode teased return of Looper enemies along with other stuff from RTCW. I'm holding fingers for this that it's true.
