I've passed through it today. It's a very simple chapter. You can't blame the level just because you lack skill. Maybe try practicing more?

I completed this level enough times to have it memorized step by step, and I still dislike it.

Every playthrough is like: "It was fun. Now, ugh, Forest. Then I can have fun again."

Totally right, the hundreds if not thousands of others expressing similar disdain (which can be immediately revealed via googling 'rtcw forest level') are just skill issues and not reasonable frustration with old games handling stealth as they did. In an FPS. Where, up until that point, stealth is not only optional, but inefficient compared to just running and gunning your way through.

Just skill issues, we all should just be regularly practicing the stealth sections to minimize the fun lost.

Probably it's the same thing, there's no difference. The only difference, although I'm not sure if it's significant because I haven't played without modifications in a long time, is the patch that improves AI, making opponents somewhat normal.

Check the guide and look for the AI Fix mention. There's a download link provided as well as installation instructions.

I love it! I played rtcw for the first time when I was 8, and ever since then I considered it one of the most immersive and memorable levels. I wouldn't call it fair, but I enjoyed the challenge :)

No offence, Norf, but I've always found the "Steam" version to be very easy to pass through, even on "I am Death Incarnate" mode. I'm sure they've nerfed it, compared to the disk version running on the same mode.

It took me 2 weeks of trying to get through that map the first time I played it :) . Anyway, I hope you get it sorted.

Once you know the route to take and which enemies to kill, it's actually pretty easy. And I don't play stealth games and hate forced stealth missions. At least the level is short and you can finish it in like 5-7 minutes.

I just finished Forest but I cant get the treasure because I got spoted by the dude you cant kill, because if you kill it he dont open the gate for the truck.

Forest map has hard requirements, but it is possible to overcome them
