1) I'm running windows 10.
2) That box with all the tech script (pasted above) is only on the screen for a split second. I can barely see it, much less do anything with it.
3) There is no wolfconfig file to be found. Anywhere. Now I found the config file for the multiplayer, but that existed AFTER I started the multiplayer game (and IT ran, so I don't know why the single player didn't).
4) Changing the screen resolution did nothing to make the game work.
Any other suggestions, or ways to do some of the more technical stuff, would be greatly appreciated.
Upon first launch, the game will try to create some files in its folder, and since Program Files is a protected folder, old games like RtCW don't have the right (modern games write in My Documents\My Games or AppData now).

Have you tried to launch the game with admin rights?

Couldn't load default.cfg
Played around with it some more, running as an admin did nothing. got this to pop up when I just tried to run the program from the right click menu.
I solved my problem by building a new, old computer. From the AM2 motherboard to the 8800 GT video card to the to running Windows XP 32 bit and yes only 3 gigs of RAM, my computer plays most all the old games. From UT 2004 to DOOM 3, to Quake 1,2,3 and 4, etc.. In my opinion most all these older games are better than the 60 dollar plus games released today anyway but I am old school. Return to Castle Wolfenstien is my all time favorite and worth the build.
So grab those old spare parts you have been unsure what to do with and go to work. You will not be sorry as the time warp is worth every minute of your time, no pun intended.

Which goal is to make the game modern-friendly; There's even an alternate renderer being worked on.
