Only 2 id Software games were deleted from Steam: Wolfenstein 2009 and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
But it's simply not available anywhere anymore.
Good thing Abandonware is a thing i guess.
It stays in the server but it's removed from the store, but if you already bought it you can still download it.
Do you know Hawken?
It's a free to play multiplayer mech based game that was removed from Steam the January 2 2018, I played it since 2014 for about 156 hours and then, when it was removed, i was still able to download it.
Obviously, even today I'm able to start it but it crashes everytime and servers are closed, but I still can download it and start it.
Recently I went to SteamDB to find how many id Software games were on Steam and i found this list https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=enemy+territory
As you can see, there are Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and some demos of it.
I tried to download Enemy Territory Quake Wars Demo 2.0 by clicking on "Free" in the upper right corner and download started, I was even able to start and play it since the client doesn't need internet connection to be played.
So as I can download Hawken and ETQW Demo 2.0, if you owned a Steam copy of Wolfenstein 2009 or ETQW you can still download and play it.
For Enemy Territory Quake Wars click this link [steamdb.info] and then "install" button in the upper right corner.
For Wolfenstein 2009 click this link [steamdb.info] and then click the install button.
Note that if you don't own the game you will be redirected to Steam Store main page (store.steampowered.com).
i think if its free, steam should be able to host abandonware
