Game crashes when I quick load or load after dying

It's exactly like it says in the title, the game starts up and runs just fine, but if I play for a while and then die or quick load, the game crashes on me. I have a windows 10 laptop and yes I have tried out the fan patch in the guides tab and it didn't work

I've the same problem. I'm nearly the end of the game (castle before Big boss) and each time i die, the game crash to return on Win10. I must restart the game to load the save game. Somebody have a solution ?

Have any of you tried running the game in WIndows 7 or XP compatibility mode? Perhaps that might help. Let me know and we can troubleshoot further if this doesn't help.

getting this too i tried verifying cache of game files and i think that helped but now its happening again. im in a res of 1280 instead of 1600 as that ♥♥♥♥♥ it up more to the point where it wont even start.

You could try using "ioRtCW". It's the best source port of the game and contains excellent features such as widescreen support and HQ sound.

Greets, everyone! Just started playing this game and I found out a possible "fix" for the 'crashing after a quick load' problem in Windows 10 but you would need to repeat this I am assuming every time you play the game but you'll only have to do it once per gaming session. (BTW: I'm currently playing the game at a resolution of 1152x864 with a desktop resolution of 1920x1080). Simply hit your left or right Windows Key and allow the game to drop back to your desktop with a large gray square of the game present on the upper left hand side of the desktop screen itself. Then, go to the task bar which should be visible and click on the Return To Castle Wolfenstein game icon there and you're all set! Then, if your system works like mine does, you'll be able to hit your quick load key until your heart's content every time after that and the screen will refresh cleanly every time and it's correct and properly allocated status ready to process the game every single time!
