How do you install mods?

tryerd to install venom mod in main folder nothing happend. I am even using the unoffical patch

it says to put the pk files in the main folder i do and the mod isn't showing up in the options menu

So you've extracted the mod aside, and copied pack0 and sp_pack1 to 4 in its Main folder?

yes i did, my computer has a virus i wonder if that has somthing to do with it

Did your AV detected some file of the Venom Mod as a virus, and thus put the file in quarantine? ^^' That would break the mod yeah

I got the dark matters mod from moddb working by making a 'mods' folder and dropping the 2 pk files into it.

Start the game ,go to options - mods and double-click on the "mods" in the box and the mod started.
It made it's own config files in the mods folder.
