Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Return to Castle Wolfenstein

JeannotMVV May 29, 2017 @ 6:47am
Please help me! I just bought RtC Wolfenstein, but it doesn't work!
Hello, I just bought RtC Wolfenstein in the Steam-shop and let Steam install it on my computer.
I tried to launch RtC by clicking on the icon, but it seems that it's not working.
I have Windows 10.

The messages I get is:
First: WolfSP.exe doesn't work anymore. We are searching for a solution.....

And after that:
WolfSP.exe doesn't work anymore. There appeared a problem and for that reason the program isn't working well anymore. The program will be shut and there will be a message once there is a solution.

???
Please help me launch this nostalgic game.
(I am not an IT miracle. Please explain in "children-language".)

Hello blue.macaw,
Thanks for your quick response.
It says that the Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a Web URL.

I have no idea where to find the program on my computer. Are you willing to help me further?

Try to launch it once manually with admin rights (right click) if you have it installed in a Program Files sub-directory

Hello >M@tEo$<,
Thank you for your answer.
I am playing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory as well for 10 years or so.
I remembered that I need to launch it with admin rights, so that was one of the first things I tried.

However, if I right click on the pictogram, there are no options such as admin rights.
That's what's weird about it. I would love to place some screenshots here but that isn't possible, is it?

Blue.macaw,
I cannot find the RTCW Game folder! How to find this? I bought the game via Steam, and they installed it to my computer! It also says, when I right-click the icon, go to properties, that is an Internet Shortcut?

By default C:\Program Files (x86)_Steam\steamapps\common\Return to Castle Wolfenstein

There you'll have admin rights option

Why did you download that patch in the first place? What was the issue you tried to fix with it?
