Fact even say " revolves around fighting" and ignoring all else game offers from setting to characters to choices to etc... is telling .. well for both...
Same for the animations, you can't tell me these aren't made by some student intern. If it is about technology and competence using it, PB should disband. If they didn't have such a small but loyal community of buyers, THQ would'be buried them already.
Maybe try putting your phone in another room or playing in full screen to help keep you from constantly alt tabbing. Its all about immersion and roleplaying.
The combat is clunky but extremely fair. If something is too difficult then you can always come back later. Dont bash your head against the wall fighting enemies with billions of HP that 1-shot you.
This is not a typical RPG. It like an old school style RPG. RPGs back in the day couldnt rely on crazy animations and super fluid combat. RPGs used to be about storytelling and immersion. Not following an arrow to the zone with enemies your level.
Kindly point me at games with clearly superior implementations. Unfortunately, your Steam profile is completely private, and your post history is all over the place with you lashing out in various forums up to the point that you don't even acknowledge what gameplay value can be found in GreedFall.
The formulae that build the foundation of Piranha Bytes' games haven't changed much over the many years when it comes to combat. Player is provided with a set of tools to get the job done. Depending on difficulty mode, player may need to specialize - player may need to perform dry practice and evaluate how different weapons and skills work and how effective they are against specific types of foes. That's the whole point of the combat gameplay. There are multiple ways to get the job done, and yes, there may be cheesy ways too, like stock-piling mental energy reserves in ELEX and wasting them early while abusing PSI Black Hole against groups of enemies. So what? The games are not about searching for the one and only mandatory way how to defeat an enemy. Do what works for you!
It's just time consuming. Slash, dodge, slash, dodge. Works for every single enemy including final boss.
Was just a damage sponge tbh. So glad it's finally over. I just finished the game.
Calling Elden Ring a new school RPG is pretty bazzar, but that is probably the length you would need to go to find something that compares to Elex 2.
That example really drives home my point of "this is as RPG as you are going to get". Thats why I choose to play this over Elden Ring right now. I want an RPG.
Compare this game to an open world RPG like Final Fantasy 15, Witcher, Skyrim, maybe Assassin Creed, or something of the same type. This game is the best we have.
If you bought this game expecting a souls-like (challenging hack and slash with corpse runs) then you made a mistake.
