Performance issues in 2024
I'm having trouble running this game regardless of settings maxed out or with everything set to low. In every major city the fps drops between 30s to 40s while during most of the open world it stays around 80s, with the occasional drop to 50s in areas with lush vegetation. I only play in 1080p with a 144hz monitor.

Specs:
5600X - 4060TI 16GB - 16 GB Ram 3200mhz - Win 11 with game installed on nvme.

Any tips on how to get better performance? I can play Cyberpunk 2077 almost maxed out around 90 fps and Stalker 2 with better performance than currently happening on this game (which shares the poor performance mostly on big cities same as Elex 2) and I can only think it's something to do with this game's optimization. Or is this the kind of situation we need a 4090 for smooth gameplay?

Hey Herbst. I assume you're running the DirectX 12 version of the game? That version was never fully optimized. Try running the DirectX 11 version of the game. That version runs 100% smoothly for me.

Hey Kris, thanks for the info, I tried to find out which version I was playing and since I have the game on GOG it seems their launcher considers the DX11 version as default if I just hit "Play", but going into the option of additional executables it gives access to the DX12 version. I tested it and it took 3-4 minutes to load my save which before was instant (I guess from compiling shaders) and now everything is running super smooth. Only time will tell if I'll have issues with this version but the second time loading the game it took less than a minute and still working nicely. Seems for some reason DX12 works better in my PC for this game lol.

Graphics is way worst in Dx11.

No they "isn't". The nighttime lighting bug in DirectX 12 makes the game look ridiculous. In return for that, you can try and activate some DirectX 12 high-end GPU options like ray tracing, which is hardly noticeable as opposed to the bright nights.

Bright nights happen only in some locations in the north and the ray tracing is very worth to have.

Is that so? The Crater is more east than north and is affected, for example.
The Crater is north..

Ignadon (= Maracor) is north. Albs HQ is more north than Crater, too. On the "world" map, Crater is pretty much in the middle of the right side of the map.

Allows you to use framegen for any game. The dev just released an update last week and it performs even better. Playing buttery smooth 120fps at max settings dx11 (dx12 has weird flickering shadows/graphical bugs).

you need an x3d processor to get the game function with high fps
