So is 3300 reviews $3m enoth to warrent Elex 3?
Btw was happy with the new Alien game? Better than Elex 2?
How to continue the story?
In a nutshell, due to what is being told in ELEX II, anything would be possible in ELEX III.
Yet what will happen to Jax?
Will ELEX III feature a new player character like the new nameless hero in Risen 3 compared with Risen 2?
Else, how to justify restarting as a weakling again?
What will happen to Dex? Potentially he will be the next protagonist.
How to continue faction membership history, faction evolution, faction conflicts and faction infighting?
Will Raavac vs Kriiton lead to anything in a sequel?
If listening to complainers, who had requested more enemies in ELEX and are annoyed by the various large groups of enemies in ELEX II, how to justify another change in enemy/battle design?
That's not an exhaustive list, and a couple of older topics have been such questions before.
Also, engine development will continue and hasn't stopped before the release of ELEX II anyway. I expect the developers and external contributors (e.g. from THQ) to spend even more time on scripted content, not limited to the great escorting missions in ELEX II.
But personally I feel it's a disappointment and I will not buy Elex 3.
Of course nothing beats Gothic 1 and 2, but Elex 2 is a solid game.
Choosing different paths in ELEX and ELEX II has been fun.
I loved Gothic 3 as well, that was one hell of a game that didn't get anywhere near as much love as it deserved given when it came out.
Those huge settlement battles were way ahead of their time!

Gothic 3 had major drawbacks: generic loot made exploration unsatisfying (whoever though of having loot based on the number of opened chests should be ashamed), very thinly stretched plot with holes the size of moon craters, technical problems, etc. But it was still better than Elex 2 in many areas.
And I think it got enough love seeing how the community made patches, content and quest packs and one day maybe even the Community Story Project will see the light of day and make it shine like Gothic 1 and 2.
But damn was it buggy xD
Nostalgia is hitting me hard, I need more hours in the day so I replay these old gems.
Elex 2 runs well, but if want more fps turn of anti aliasing render range to.
Compared to how it looks it does not run well at all.
