The camera causes nausea and makes the game unplayable
Dynamic camera concept is good, but it requires proper implementation. Moving camera and headbob done properly enhance the feeling of character movement and yes, they would fit Elex, but no, what we have here is ridiculously wrong.

First off, default camera zoom and positioning are wrong: offset is way too big and the camera is way too close for an open world. Second, the dynamic of the camera doesn't fit the dynamic of the movement, it's not synched, hence, many players are complaining about nausea.

Third person cameras usually have a "spring" to imitate the movement. The problem of coding that spring is solved and there are even proper free code solutions will all the examples and explanations: https://www.ryanjuckett.com/damped-springs/ It's not that hard to implement.

I myself am a mod maker and just recently we made a mod for another game introducing dynamic camera. Here's a video demonstration of it:
https://youtu.be/mub1GiGRpm4

Note the difference with what is done in Elex 2. It's like the developers just saw the feature in another game and suddenly decided to throw it in without giving it much thought. So the result is horrible and needs to be fixed ASAP.

Please do regroup all camera topics (and those are in numbers) on that one which is targetting the main culprit to me.

It would be nice if you could contact and tell them that you are a modder and probably could fix this. You might be able to work with them

Game itself seems to play ok, but we're definitely in need of some quality of life additions to stuff such as the camera.

Camera is way too sensitive and zoomed in too close to Jax. The sensitivity is likely the largest contributing factor to people experiencing motion sickness and the lack of zoom is amplifying it.

Unfortunately, I also prefer the look of Elex 1. I guess the things they are trying in Elex 2 are part of the learning process for their team, but the immediate results are not an improvement over Elex, imo

I'd be surprised if the camera issue (that is very real, BTW) is ever fixed by devs. So yeah, here's hope that someone makes a mod.

Very nice, OP. I wish you were designing the camera for not just Elex 2 but ALL 3rd person open-world games. RDR2 and Elden Ring included!

I strongly suggest Piranha Bytes to contact the Army of Two people (behind the mod ... and doing it without the ease of proper tools ... if you know what I mean ) to fix in no time those camera troubles on ELEX 2.

i keep checking nexus for the day when some beautiful soul makes the elex 2 customizable camera/dynamic fov remover mod. pb will never make a functional camera, its always up to modders. bless you, modding community :praisesun:

Being one of the Army of Two people I can say that I'd like to work on ELEX II camera, but the modding community is currently lacking tools for that.

Also, it's an uneasy subject, but needs to be said. I am Russian. And due to the recent events me and my fellow Russian modders are being cut off from the community day by day and bit by bit. I'm a teacher, not an oligarch, with quite an average salary. Just a few days ago PayPal stopped its operations in Russia with no warning emails, no nothing, basically seizing all our accounts without any real opportunity to withdraw what we had (international bank operations were blocked even earlier with Visa and Master Card). I had to close my Patreon page for the same reason - no way for the support I was getting from the community to get to me anymore. And to make things even more difficult, backbone Internet providers are also stopping to work in Russia, meaning our Internet access might soon become very limited.

I did not expect something like this to happen, same as many other people like me who were working for years in good relationships together with the modders from all over the world to make gaming experience better for thousands of players. I am against all forms of war and I always tried my best to bring knowledge and understanding to people being a teacher and a Roddenberry's Star Trek fan. Now I need to explain to my son why I can no longer buy him LEGO and why he's unable to play Minecraft (due to corresponding companies stopping their operations in Russia). And I really can't, because I'm lacking words to explain why things like Pampers are becoming a part of politics. It hits the wrong people.

What do you mean by pampers? The diapers? lol. And ye It sucks what is happening to russia. I feel like a lot of it is them trying to get the civilians to revolt and to get the soldiers to revolt. but idk. Would be nice if that happened thou. As putin cant do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with out his army and citizens lol. But fear is one of the most powerful tools. And ignorance as I bet a lot of normies dont understand exactly whats going on. but im not from there. But Ye I understand why its happening but it sucks that civilians that like 80 or 90% of them dont even want a war or stand by what is happening get punished hard. Heck the entire developed world is being punished in some way due to it rn. Since russia was a huge importer or exporter of oil.

Either way Hopefully its over soon. Like it feels weird that soon a lot of russians just cant play games because of a war. Btw you could try to torrent minecraft for your son. So he at least has that. But also im not parent but I think being honest to your son about whats going on would be the best.

HUH ???

I am confused ... as an European Citizen. Here in Europe all media are especially talking about Russian Oligarch being plagued with restrictive measures ... what the hell ???

You can't punish also kids for that ... what is going on with society those days ?
