Jax has a new voice I know it's a famous voice actor but I don't know which one.

Original voice was way more badass, dunno why they decided to change.

It was not more badass. His voice was "deepened" by software. It didn't sound natural at all. I even remember they forgot to "deep" some of his voice lines and his natural voice was way higher than this new voice.

Listen to Jax's voice in the german version of the game(use youtube). That's a way more natural voice.

I still prefer the old one, that's how it is. Anyway, not a big issue, still want to play it.

His voice was masculine and autistic
autistic because of the ELEX addiction and masculine because he was a MAN

but now he sounds like a generic dude doing a generic VO for a game he doesn't care about it

for PB's sake i hope this VO is placeholder and not the cannon choice, for it will SEVERELY ruin the experiance

I love the new voice. much better actor than the first game. I loved the first game but i gotta say this voice sounds way better. more real. not forced sounding. I like the new voice. so exited for this game.

I also much prefer the old voice. This one feels entirely unnatural to me, in Jax' case. Regardless of his current or recent elex use and how much emotion he feels, he was still raised during a significant portion of his formative years not only under the influence of the elex itself, but also the behavior/attitude/morals/... that come with it. That's just not something you wean off of entirely in a matter of years, or something you snap out of. You don't just get in touch with your inner feelings and become a perfectly normal, emotionally adjusted person like that. So while the old voice did sound weird/unnatural/forced, that did in fact make it more natural as Jax' voice, in my opinion.

Yeah, seems like a complete different person. Not Jax at all. If they made him sound gruff then maybe but when they started him as gruff person they can't change the voice or at least not too much. The new voice is too different might as well make him to a new character. And Like Housatonic said, He grew up and lived with the albs for years. He was adult possibly around 30 years old or older when he was shot down in Magalan near Goliet.

Like Quickshooter. I also hope that the VO is a placeholder.

No strong feelings here, but I didn't find anything wrong or odd about his "old" voice. It fitted perfectly to his appearance and background. Rough, deep enough, calm and not emotional yet. This new voice lends him more of a soft touch - as if he could be Dex's older sibling.
