How does LE compare to Grim Dawn?

Grim Dawn is my favorite AARPG, how does this game compare for people who have played both?

It's better imo, but I never liked grim dawn as much as you do.

It's a mashup of d4 and PoE with everything watered down from PoE and everything gaining complexity from D4

Grim Dawn to me still is the best ARPG out there. There is enough complexity and freedom to do whatever I like, mix any classes I want, fine tune my builds with gear, devotions, components and augments. Also really good faction reputation system with friendly factions giving me powerful augments and blueprints and with foes spawning uber-bosses nemesis bosses. I played beta LE for couple days and really not that impressed. Hopefully 1.0 will be good enough, I will give it a shot. But I don't really have any expectations of it being better than Grim Dawn.

I think much better in a direct comparison with Grim Dawn 1.0 but only time will tell if it can match the giant additions Grim Dawn got after the release.

I have played GD for 400 hours and love it LE is different but I loved it too from the first minute of playing it. LE in my opinion visually looks more like D3 but with better graphics.

I haven't played Last Epoch in a few years (got it in early access and figured out quickly it needed much more time to cook). At that time, it was no where near as good as Grim Dawn. I'm finally going to give it another shot again with the 1.0 launch since I already own the game. Hoping it's good now so I can get my money's worth. I need something fun to play for at least a month while I wait on Dragon's Dogma 2. Honestly, it will take a lot for a game to beat Grim Dawn as I consider it the most feature complete isometric aRPG with another expansion coming this year.

LE is chill and easier compared to GD.
Loot and the chase of it is still more fun in GD. LE still needs more work content-wise.
I think the good thing they have in common is that you can play both of them, full offline. Just don't buy any MTX if you are going to play full offline, they won't work.

I'd say Grim Dawn is better, but it's not really a fair comparison. LE is excellent and slots in nicely between GD and Diablo.

I adore Grim Dark, but after "finishing" Last Epoch, i genuinely couldn't say which one i like more. Both have their distinct strengths.

Grim Dawn's itemization reigns supreme. The sheer amount of customizability, how much gear is more than just raw stats, it's all still unmatched.

On the other hand, Last Epoch's pacing is a lost better.
Combat, traversal etc. is all a bit faster paced, character building is a tad less involved etc.

Personally, they're both comfortably sitting in my top 3 fav ARPG's.
I pick GD when i want something more involved and LE when i'm more in an actiony mood :D

Grim Dawn is unsurpassed as far as ARPG's are concerned imho.
However after trying Last Epoch for a while i believe it will be tons of fun as well, in many different ways than GD though
Grim Dawn 2 will happen but that will take 3-5 years at least so LE is a good option in the meantime :)

I will start LE now at the release of version 1.0.
I have more than 2k hours in Grim Dawn and I say, for a game to be better than Grim Dawn it needs to be really good, both in gameplay and fluidity.
I hope LE is great.

GrimDawn is a fully fleshed out game with many expansions and an upcoming expansion.
I have played about 1300 hours of GD and a few hundred in LE so I think im grounded enough to say that GD is absolutely better and the reason is simple, it has way more content and expansions.

However:

If we weigh up Vanilla GD Vs Last Epoch then LE wins but again GD has way more content lots more replay ability and a new expansion coming out very soon. Im doing my very best to not fanboy GD to much and I will state that I bought LE and GD before they where on steam.
I know one day that last epoch will eventually catch up to GrimDawn but lets not forget the historical ties GD has with TQ and right around the corner is Titan Quest 2 which might just blow both games out the water.

If you are looking for something fresh to play then it will have to be Last Epoch, If you are looking for something a bit more fleshed out and don't mind the older style of ARPG then its 100% GD, both are very good games with GD currently still slightly better due to content.

Even without the Expansions, Grim Dawn has a lot more to offer than LE. This game is a shallow puddle compared to it. It isn't really that much fun tbh.
