Is this a live service game?
I was under the impression this was akin to something like Grim Dawn, a single player campaign with the option for co-op. The store on the other hand mentions "in-app purchases", and the game description has the audacity to state there will be no pay to win.

Strictly speaking, there is no "pay to win". That being said, both buying power and buying cosmetics are forms of "pay to enjoy". So, that is still something to consider. If you can still enjoy the game with the paid stuff stripped out permanently for you, then it'll feel like a normal game that doesn't rely on microtransactions.

Ignore everyone focusing on my p2w jab, I just thought it was a ridiculous thing to include in the game's description and people took issue. I'm interesting in understanding why there are mtx in the game, because all this time I thought it was something like Grim Dawn. Do you know what the live service includes?

It includes continued development and updates, new cycles (seasons) every three months. Any video game that continues development, patches, new content, etc. is a live service game. A non-live service game would be something like The Witcher 3 or Baldurs Gate III. Sure they add stuff and patch things for a while, but at some point the development stops and you are left with the 'Definitive Edition" etc.

Cosmetics in a cash shop is not pay-to-win, so not sure where you're getting that reaction from. I suggest watching YouTube videos, reading the main website and Wiki before coming to sweeping conclusions.

Because there isn't pay to win. So you being offended is ridiculous.

There isn't any pay to win stuff in the shop. Only cosmetics, but go off since you seem to have already made up your mind about the game.

This game is kind of like PoE, it has cosmetic microtransactions. There is no pay 2 win though, even stash tabs can be bought with in-game currency (and hundreds of them, not 6/8 like in D4.

You can play Single Player - Offline..

"has the audacity to state there will be no pay to win." .... soooo.... what's the pay to win item champ? should be easy to find an example if it exists.

I'd recommend thinking of it in the reverse - a live service game (PoE, D4) with an option to have offline characters (it's an option you select at the character screen). The servers are currently down, but Steam says there are more than 7,800 people playing - offline, because there are no servers to connect to.

It's not hard to avoid pay-to-win, and other ARPGs are doing it. While they could probably get away with it, EHG is not even doing pay-for-QoL like other ARPGs (stash tabs, character slots, etc.), and have either just given them outright or made them available via unpurchaseble in-game currency (gold).

OP has the audacity to assume MTX = P2W items only

How the ♥♥♥♥ would I know? It never crossed my mind there would be any, until they decided to include it as a feature in the store's description. I wasn't wondering before, but a flag doesn't get more red than this.

How would you know? Idk... maybe try reading instead of choosing to get offended at people correcting your stupidity on the subject?

I am sorry, apparently it's normal these days for games to say on the store description there will be no pay to win, like that is not an obvious thing to be expected from a single player game with co-op. I apologise, I have never, ever seen it before and it through me a bit off guard.

Ok so there's no p2w but you have the audacity to make such a statment. one of the most internet comments of all time.

At no point did I say there was any p2w though. What I said, and somehow few read correctly, is that it's audacious to state it as a feature on the store page.
