To be fair there are very few games that do character customization/gender swap in the genre. Beyond D4 recently there's very little that offer it because it's super expensive to develop.

As others have stated it is gender-locked. The game will have an offline mode so hopefully it will get some simple model swap mods since it is unity which already has third party modding tools available.

Its only super expensive to develop if you make terrible design decisions, like making a completely different body rig for each class instead of 2 rigs with free class choice.

lol offline mode isn't "offline". This game has been around for years, it's never getting that option. the devs are more likely to add the option themselves before that happens.

Just like in PoE, classes are gender-locked. If you're THAT insecure about your masculinity that you can't play as a female character, you have bigger issues to worry about.

Its called "customization". Its kinda important in games in 2024. Skins make more money than entire games these days.

Apparently the devs have stated that at launch there will be 2 options when launching Last Epoch offline and online, the offline version will never connect to online.
