Enough is enough with these shields...
...Just give the damm bosses 3 times the health....this system is draining and irritating!

No, the ward pulses are working as intended, giving bosses a chance to damge you. More health does not, instead it just punishhes builds that are not optimised for maximum spike damage. The ward should stay as is for this cycle so we finaly have a chance to play with a maybe working solution to the player damage creep.

... how is that any better?

I like the ward bubbles. Makes most bosses more predictable (and usually easier) than they were before with dynamic damage reduction. The interplay is kind of cool when there are multiple bosses too, like Spirits of Fire. Trigger one ward bubble, move on to one of the other bosses and trigger their ward bubble, etc.. You can use the mechanic to kill all three at once with less effort.

Anyhow, I think the answer to most of these complaints is "git gud". :hammerheadsnark:

Tbh, what this system is really doing is it punishes low dmg builds. If you have a high dmg build you still kill boses slightly slower than before, but low dmg builds (tanks for example) do kill bosses way, way longer than before. This is especially prominant in the end game empowered monolith side & main bosses.

I have heard that this sytem was suppouse to reduce difference in efectivness between glass canon high dmg builds and tanky brawler low dmg output builds. But what it really did is it actually made the dispropprtions greater.

my rogue frost flask /explosive trap erase the shield in like 2 sec so i dont care about it but my Vk wanna die when the boss shield so yeah it need something to help the low dps build
No me llamo Jul 12, 2024 @ 8:34pm
imo bosses never had health problems or getting one shot unless you are playing a buggy build like warlock or falconer in last cycle...so I dont see why devs decided to add the ward stuff on bosses and maybe if you have good dps you maybe wont even notice the difference while leveling it can be annoying

This new shield thing is trash and bad design. It extends the fight pointlessly. If a player can easily kill an elite and/or boss, let them.

Why should other players have to suffer because you don't enjoy killing things too fast?

Nerf yourself if you think you have too much damage creep. Remove your weapon, your armor, etc, until you have the balance you want in a situation where you do too much damage

Some of the boss fights it is fine, but the ones that can one-shot, I just want to get it over as quick as possible to minimize the chance of death.

This. To me it feels like I am now forced to follow a guide just like with PoE to progress in the game because I lack the damage to do anything really when trying to come up with something of my own. Previously it was ok to not have a perfect build, but now even the story is more tedious to get through even on a decent build.

Imo the ward system would have been fine as mechanic for a new boss, but not something that should have been put on all of them. I truly hope the devs stop removing the fun from the game.

Except you're not suffering, You're literally just *aware* of the slowdown to your damage now in this new system.

The former system did the same thing, you just never noticed. This new system is objectively better because not only can you still deal damage to the boss and thus leech and such to survive, you aren't punished continuously for dealing that damage as the ward decays at an accelerating rate.

To add to this, the steam forums are literally the only place anyone is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about this system at all. Everywhere else actually loves it for the most part.

Sure I can't speak for everyone but the correlation is there and it's kind of hilarious how lopsided this sentiment seems to be here.

Few points: Yes the new system is more transparent. It is also much less effective. Further what "build" needs to rely on leech for survival? This is LE also known as Schrodingers health bar thanks to the reliance on attacks intended to one shot you.

Semi jokes aside, the hive mind mentality though well it seems that carefully curated forums tend to be very, English is hard, its a neat trick when "people" post but its the developers speaking.

Did you know Steam moderates here as EHG has not had a community manager/moderater here for quite sometime.

Food for thought.

Horrible gamemechanik, propably made to get people to quit the game so they have an excuse to focus on other projects. I quit because I want to PLAY bossfights, not just wait for a blue bar to disapear 80% of the fight time.

no it is better than more life
hight domage builds have to destroy all the shield and lower dps let a good portion fade in time
it is good and you can see what was hidden before

jesus you really think your "opinion" does matter :D

All you do is cry cause "random reason" and project your own failure on the player base.
Deal with it: The system works, it is different than you know it and if you cannot manage it, dont blame others for your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude, kk thx bye

Dude.... the system was designed to do the EXACT opposite. How do you figure that it hinders low DPS builds? Boss Ward decay LITERALLY gives the player free DPS because the Ward d-e-c-a-y-s over time which directly contributes to low-DPS builds by giving them free damage on top of their own while a high-DPS build will not notice the difference.

Tbh, what this system is doing is showcasing the lack of critical thinking some folks possess. Smh
