I like the ward bubbles. Makes most bosses more predictable (and usually easier) than they were before with dynamic damage reduction. The interplay is kind of cool when there are multiple bosses too, like Spirits of Fire. Trigger one ward bubble, move on to one of the other bosses and trigger their ward bubble, etc.. You can use the mechanic to kill all three at once with less effort.
Anyhow, I think the answer to most of these complaints is "git gud".
I have heard that this sytem was suppouse to reduce difference in efectivness between glass canon high dmg builds and tanky brawler low dmg output builds. But what it really did is it actually made the dispropprtions greater.
Why should other players have to suffer because you don't enjoy killing things too fast?
Nerf yourself if you think you have too much damage creep. Remove your weapon, your armor, etc, until you have the balance you want in a situation where you do too much damage
Imo the ward system would have been fine as mechanic for a new boss, but not something that should have been put on all of them. I truly hope the devs stop removing the fun from the game.
The former system did the same thing, you just never noticed. This new system is objectively better because not only can you still deal damage to the boss and thus leech and such to survive, you aren't punished continuously for dealing that damage as the ward decays at an accelerating rate.
To add to this, the steam forums are literally the only place anyone is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about this system at all. Everywhere else actually loves it for the most part.
Sure I can't speak for everyone but the correlation is there and it's kind of hilarious how lopsided this sentiment seems to be here.
Few points: Yes the new system is more transparent. It is also much less effective. Further what "build" needs to rely on leech for survival? This is LE also known as Schrodingers health bar thanks to the reliance on attacks intended to one shot you.
Semi jokes aside, the hive mind mentality though well it seems that carefully curated forums tend to be very, English is hard, its a neat trick when "people" post but its the developers speaking.
Did you know Steam moderates here as EHG has not had a community manager/moderater here for quite sometime.
Food for thought.
hight domage builds have to destroy all the shield and lower dps let a good portion fade in time
it is good and you can see what was hidden before
All you do is cry cause "random reason" and project your own failure on the player base.
Deal with it: The system works, it is different than you know it and if you cannot manage it, dont blame others for your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude, kk thx bye
Dude.... the system was designed to do the EXACT opposite. How do you figure that it hinders low DPS builds? Boss Ward decay LITERALLY gives the player free DPS because the Ward d-e-c-a-y-s over time which directly contributes to low-DPS builds by giving them free damage on top of their own while a high-DPS build will not notice the difference.
Tbh, what this system is doing is showcasing the lack of critical thinking some folks possess. Smh
