Thankfully you have to buy it and then if buy cosmetics you can only use them in online mode. Blizzard would be proud.

And nobody is forcing you to read about it. The fact that the cosmetics are online only is the main issue people have with them. Offering offline characters and limiting your purchases to online characters only is stupid and the only reason it's like that is so they can use their crappy in game shop that doesn't even use actual currency and uses their made up one so you can never clear your balance or just straight up buy things.

Nobody is forcing us to buy them is the lamest argument and is so tired and played out that I am shocked that you thought it was a good idea to post it.

People that does not value their money and support ♥♥♥♥♥♥ anti-consumer practices are among the ones creating real problems in the world, first or third. Of course there are worse issues out there, but if you support this ♥♥♥♥ in videogames, there is no reason to believe you don't when buying food or clothes or actual important things.

Cosmetics used to be free and unlockable through playing the game. I can excuse ftp games charging for them, but if you are charging money for a game and have MTX on top of that, especially before the games official release, you are already showing that the money is more important than the game

And don't forget that the in game ones from gear look really bad. I am sure the DLC will look way better so they can sell them.

The concept of microtransactions itself isn't the worst thing ever. I get it, developers want to make money, and rightfully so. But the egregious prices of "micro" transactions never seizes to amaze me. $35 for an entire video game, and yet a handful of cosmetics is probably the same as that, if not more. It just doesn't make any sense, and yet it apparently works.

Counterpoint: You play a game for 1000+ hrs and paid $20. Is it really that bad to throw a few extra bucks after already getting $.02 per hour of entertainment?

For those that just play for like 10 hrs and move on to whatever game their streamer tells them to, I get not seeing the value of cosmetic prices. For those who play for at MINIMUM 100 hrs have no real reason to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. There are far worse pricing models out there (ex. keep your sub active or lose your stuff!!!).

There is an offline mode, so it will never be free nor should it.

As a KS backer and on e that has been playing the game since day one, if you consider all the content and work put into the game it would be criminal if the game would be free and like I said it has a offline mode so there is no reason for it to be free since you actual own the game just like OG Diablo 2.
