Zero Gold items in Merchant's Guild
I'm curious if people are doing this bc they think they get reputation points for selling an item or if there's another reason. bc my understanding is that you only get points for listing an item.

I guess it's still good to sell the items quickly so they don't clutter your listing page, but it is strange that there are so many items available. It would still be better to just sell uniques and set items to vendor than waste favor listing them.

My other question is what will happen in the next cycle. There's going to be a lot less players playing next cycle so less items in merchant's guild overall. And the players who are playing will realize that selling 0 gold items is pointless unless they're just doing it out of generosity.

This is why I quit using the Merchant’s Guild. And have been CoF ever since. There no reason to list anything for zero gold

Also it seems far to easy to gear up using MG. Also doesn't feel rewarding. IMHO trading in poe feels far more rewarding than trading in this game does

WHen you list an item you get reputation based the cost of listing it, even it dooes not get sold. So I think they are just trying to spend their excess points to level up their MG rank.

I list for X amount of gold, I gain rep, and the item is likely to just sit there doing nothing for anyone

or

I list for 0 gold, I gain rep, some other player may get something useful to them at no cost

or

I vendor for 500 gold, which is trivial and really does nothing for me or anyone else

Yeah. That's fair, but it costs favor to list items. Or do you not have anything else to spend that on in the beginning?

I don't have a problem with helping out other people btw. I was just curious why people are doing it. And also wondering what the economy will be like next cycle (which could be a long time away for all we know)

Nothing else to do with favor but blow it at the gambler really, and that's not very worthwhile except for maybe at the absolute earliest levels at the start of a new cycle (when you don't really have much favor to spend lol). And you'll have a really bad time trying to rank up if not listing items to sell. So it's absolutely worth it to list what you can when you can, even for 0 gold.

The reason why people where listing items for zero gold.

Is alot of players (start of cycle) thought u gained rep from listing (which u do) and gained rep when the item sold. Which u don't.

Not having a proper way to price check is another reason.

Rep is gained only from favor spent as well as favor gained from mob kills

How this will look in cycle 2 1.1. Dont know. I do think now that players know this. We won't see many items listed for zero gold

Next cycle should be around may or june. Which is 3-4 months after the release of the game.
