Static Wraith's not attacking

Currently respecing into a Static Wraith build after using archer skeletons to level with at 56. Problem i have is the Static Wraith's rarely attack no matter where I plant them, compared to archer skels its night and day as for viability of them.

Is there a distance rule on how close they have to be to you or the npc before they will auto attack?

ah brain fart, just noticed my mistake the fire wraith is only a %chance or we get melee as well, so yeah they sit on there asses if static at range to npc's

You need some idols for your build.. 2 idols can have over 100% together so you dont even need the fire wraith node after that..

using idols atm for resists, trying to get new armour with better stats then I can sacrifice 8 idol slots

yep using idols atm for resists, trying to get new armour with better stats then I can sacrifice 8 idol slots as I have a 56 and 40% chance idols already. Maybe switched too early from volatiles and archers, Going farming for a bit and see if I get lucky and get some resist armour if not might just revert in mean time

I think the flame wraiths will make up for it.. you could sacrifice the resist until you get better gear.

yeah that is what I ended up doing, a single 56% idol equipped helps a lot. I just can't get stuck in middle of a pack of attackers. That and I don't have the monolith resist perks yet.

You need to use the skill Drain Life, especially if you're committing to static wraiths. It's basically a 'must have' skill for your build.

Drain Life has a node that will grant you +50% ALL RESISTANCES. You'll never need to worry about resistences ever again. It also gives you infinite mana and health regen.

Slap on your 2 idols, and watch everything get deleted. Then use the staff Aberrant Call as soon as you find one.

yeah I got the staff recently hence my switching from a skelly bow to wraith build, following a guide from The Curse, I just need to fix my armour stats which are make do atm

The only changes I recommend making from his build is the chest piece and the amulet. You don't need that chest piece. I think you're much better off using a chest piece with +2 wraith skill, which will allow you to use Death Rattle amulet instead of Logi's Hunger. He's using Logi's because he needs the additional skill points he loses by not using an exalted chest piece. Furthermore, the DPS increase from Death Rattle is just superior in every way, outclassing the increased crit chance from Logi's.

But anyway, if you use Drain Life, I don't see why you can't use your 2 flame wraith idols. You shouldn't be having any resistance issues. Besides, resistances aren't really all that important anyway until you're in empowered mono's. This is especially true with this build as well, since you never have to be near any enemies. You can off-screen clear most content with these wraiths.

@mrwitz not enough points to unlock the resist node yet but yeah I switched to 2 idols and just cast wraiths ahead and no issues, with the staff I can get 10 atm but lack the mana without using Drainlife, which I save mostly for bosses/objectives as I dont move about much, except to avoid mines/damage circles.

As for the armour he has 2 builds one with the chest and one with basic, which is my plan. at 71 I get a +3 wraith and 62% increase fire minion dmg, currently have increase 120% fire minion and minion crit
