DANGER = ULTRA VIDEO CARD HOT SPOT 105° AFTER PATCH!
Good afternoon, what did you do with Ultra quality?
After yesterday's small update, my video card is arriving at 105° in the hot spot, screaming, new 3060TI, clean, with new thermal, with 7 fans in the case, new and excellent internal cooling.
I tested other games that were much heavier than L.E. on Ultra with FPS unlocked and hot spot, it doesn't go above 85°, it's only in Last Epoch that this is happening.
Warn people, there will be people who will burn the video card.
Until yesterday, before this patch, I always played on Ultra, and I play with vsync turned on at 60FPS, video card hot spot, it didn't go above 84° or 85°, now the video card is frying, even when the FPS is locked at 60 , stay alert, fix this!

105 C or F? If it's Fahrenheit 105 is actually below optimal GPU temps which is actually fine. Now if it's 105°C, then I would be concerned. Optimal GPU temps for AMD can be 60°C to 70°C (140°F to 158°F) and for NVIDIA optimal temps can be 75°C to 85°C (158°F to 185°F). Most of this information is readily available online to check for yourself. But as of 2024 these are the stats I pulled up. My PC temps run 85°C or 185°F when doing intensive gaming.

Oh and forgot to mention, I'm running a NVIDIA RTX 4080. 30 and 40 series card will run hotter as well. I also believe that this game is not as optimized as the game developers claim it to be either.

If your GPU is reaching 105c at all then there's something wrong with your cooling, it doesn't matter what game or software is running, that shouldn't even be possible if your cooling is working.

These 105° are only reaching the hot spot of the video card, its normal temperature is 84°, the cooler is working perfectly (GPU-Z), and the video card is new and clean, as well as the entire case is clean.
I tested it in other games, much heavier, ultra 60FPS quality, and in the hot spot it doesn't exceed 85°, and a normal temperature of 75°, only after yesterday's patch, this is happening, very strange.
NOTE: You are only betting on Ultra, if you set very high quality, vsync turned off, hot spot does not exceed 85°, and a normal video card does not exceed 75°, very strange, because until yesterday I was doing live and playing on ultra, OBS Stream on the same PC, and the temperature didn't reach that, very strange, I'm going to play it on very high, it definitely did something wrong in ultra quality!

did you apply the new thermal paste yourself? make sure the the paste covers the entirety of the gpu chip, spread it over it if you have to. and i hope you didn't remove the thermal pads on the vram, or at least without replacing the old ones.

There was always a problem with GPU heating in observatory :) Same temperature as in stress test.
Other game runs at 15-30% GPU.

There was never a problem with the GPU, but I repeat, this only happens with Last Epoch, with other, heavier games, on ultra and 2k, 60FPS+ does not happen!
Very strange as this started after the Last Epoch update yesterday!
I'm currently playing everything on Very High, at 2k and it's not heating up, above 85°, on the hot spot, with two monitors and watching YouTube at the same time. They messed with the last patch and changed something, poorly optimized in ultra quality! The video card is fine, the problem is the game! Other games I don't have this warm-up!

Its definitely the card. Its not even triggering thermal lock downs at 105. Your card should be crashing and shutting itself off at that temp.
Psykrom Mar 15, 2024 @ 1:02pm
84°C normal temp is far too high. My GPU idle temperature right now is 33°C, the fans are not even running.

In fact, when I play Last Epoch in 4K and stream the game at the same time, I only reach 73°C !!!
Ripflex Mar 15, 2024 @ 1:35pm
If the OP said, and if he's not lying, in any other game it sits at 84 Celsius ... then the game probably rendering load screens and idle scenes at too high a frame rate; this is a rare bug in some games. Set to Borderless Window mode and cap the in game frame rate to 60.

This game runs 15 Celcius hotter than Cyberpunk 2077 that has settings on Very High and with Ray Tracing on, unless I cap the framerate.

If your video card hot spot is 85 C with other games, you have an issue. You should never reach 85 C on a 3060 TI with any game.

The maximum GPU temperature as per the specs are 93 C core temperature. If under normal gaming you reach 85 C, that's bad. So it's almost "normal" you would reach even higher with other games like this one, as your normal running conditions are simply bad temperature wise.

You are likely experiencing throttling under any game. It's screaming for a reason...

Perhaps I missed it, but what GPU do you have? They have tolerances and you should only be concerned if you're approaching or exceeding your GPU's temperature tolerance. For example with my GPU, AMD says it's perfectly safe up until the hotspot is 110 C. Some games run warmer, some run cooler, but it's not an issue as long as it's within what the device was built to withstand.

I put it above, he has a 3060TI which has a core shutdown temperature of 93 C. It will throttle long before that, and it should never come close to 93 C as that temperature will forcefully shut the card down to prevent permanent damage to the GPU.

Im guessing youre either from Portugal or Brazil but since your temps go about 85c I assume youre the latter. 85c even in a hot climate is too high for a 3060 ti BUT the game does have issues with "ultra" settings specifically Volumetric Lighting since launch.

My temps on a r5 3600 and 5600 xt go about 80c/82c respectively on ultra 1080p until I turned down volumetric lighting and capped the framerate to 60. Its been stable since at 70c both (I also live in a hot/tropical country).
