Also there will be no major difference between leagues and legacy in regards of content for some time so it really does not matter which league you play.
Are we sure that the current system where the cycle content is also available permanently on legacy will continue? I really like this since it eliminates FOMO unlike what we get in D4. I feel like going to a car dealership every time I start D4 since there is so much "DON'T MISS OUT ON THESE AMAZING TIME-LIMITED DEALS".
It's bad enough we can't get all the support/cosmetics in Offline Mode. Having Legacy and Seasons release the same content is going to be what they need to stick to. This game isn't going to grow over time like Diablo II. Where you could currently have 10x more fun playing Project Diablo II: S10 and where re-leveling each Season actually has a fun feel to it!
The only difference I can see from Legacy to League is they might try something on a League to see how well it's received. If it ends up not so well received, I wouldn't want it to be permanently in game. The Nemesis stuff they have right now in both is actually really nice. It's a nice gear chase that feels good. That's something LE does really well.
Also, no clue why you were given the clown award... That's a legitimate complaint, and something to worry about.
