check your passive nodes to see if there is any passive reduce dmg
red ring can reduce 10% dmg
also make sure you either 100 crit avoidance or 100% reduced bonus dmg from crit hit - this is a must have for high level corruption. crit can one shot you
besides all these, people either invest in block or dodge
or slow/stun/freeze to make enemies can't move = you are safer
also you still need to move around and avoid dmg - unless you are very tanky build
500 is not high tbh
above 1000 will be quite challenge, meta builds can do 2000 corruptions
You can also dip into something like life leach + hp into ward with some gear. The idea is to use hp to gain ward and use leach to keep hp topped so you have both full hp and full ward for additional layer of protection. Didn't work too great with lighting werebear but should be easier on the shaman.
And yeah. You still gonna get oneshoted with some nukes. That's just how it is. Primalist is like quarter of paladin defense wise right now. There's a reason why 90%+ playing either zhp falconers or palading/vk according to LE tools leaderboards.
