Respec

After learning you can freely change your specialization in Last Epoch, I’ve decided to uninstall. Good luck out there, but this just isn’t for me anymore.

The game already felt like it lacked real variety. Most builds started blending together by mid-game, and the skill trees, while deep on the surface, often funneled into the same meta paths. Now, finding out that you can respec your mastery class—the one thing that was supposed to define your character long-term—completely killed what little sense of identity was left.

There’s no commitment, no permanence, no real weight to your choices. If every character can eventually try everything, what’s the point of replaying? I was hoping Last Epoch would lean into meaningful progression and build uniqueness, but it’s headed in the opposite direction.

I must have missed the line in the patch notes where they tie players down and force them to respec their characters into the flavor of the month skills.

Game works off gear anyway so this doesnt really change much, you build around your gear

Usually this stance is held by people who pride themselves on picking the right decisions as they get upset when anyone can just respec out of jealousy to the best build every update.

Having to reroll in Diablo 2 because you spent your skill points all over the place, trying to see what worked and what didn't, and ended up too weak to kill anything felt really bad. Not sure why anyone would want to go back to game design that wastes the player's time. Though honestly OP is probably just jester farming. Disappointing he got three of them so far.

it costs 500k G on top of the passives refund cost. its not like you can spam it lol. and no, most builds dontt blend together because this game has actual class identity unlike the shared passives and skills of PoE
