"Please note, cosmetic items are not available in offline mode"
New $90 AUD "Woven pack" but as always it's online only. Why are we still doing this, if you're playing offline mode you should have access to the content you paid for, what is the problem? Is it modding? Because who does that impact apart from the person playing offline?

I want to support LE, I'm eager to play the new big patch, but when I see this I can't help but wonder who was this decision made for, because it's not for me, I'm not going to buy cosmetics if I can't play offline with them, and people who only play online won't ever know or care, so without some clarity it just feels to me like a middle finger which I don't understand since in every other regard they're so good.

There was a reason they gave during I think AaronARPGs interview something to do with how the cosmetics are displayed.

I'll have to watch the interview then, I'll look for it on youtube, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Okay I laughed because the thread you sent both had you sending a link to google and someone sending a link with a time stamp to the answer.

I found the AaronARPG twitch stream interview, I got the timestamp for it for anyone interested in the direct quote: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2430247109?t=1h0m7s

Also checked out the forum post but the answer wasn't very clear. There seemed to be a viable option via making the cosmetics DLC, but the mod said they didn't want to do that due to then having a long list of DLCs, which sounds like a good thing in some ways since you may not want a pack of items when you only want one or two things, regardless it IS a solution for something both Devs and Players want.
