Report a translation problem
They just design their game as best they can. They set their release dates how it suits them and when they happen to be on the same date, they think "hey maybe thats not optimal, lets change the date". Nothing wrong. No need to pull anyones fingers. Noone is intimidated. Just all mature people running their games in peace.
Here's how I imagined it going
EHG: We're going to release on April 2.
GGG: Ok.

GGG: We're going to release on April 4.

A large part of players make decisions based on start of league. If they can't be there for the start, they won't start latter--FOMO and item market stuff, "catching up", "falling behind", yada yada, you even see it with PoE 1's current event, Phrecia, because GGG sabotaged it by making it seem shorter initially and only announcing real end-date later, many people skipped out on it because they felt they couldn't invest in it properly.
