R9 5900x and 3080TI runs this at 100 FPS just fine at 1440p
1440p main screen. tried 1080p as well.
I mean, in fairness, you are running 8-9 year old hardware. What kind of performance were you getting when you played?
as i said, a year ago there were NO such performance issues. i only need to boot to menu and see the low fps. at End of Time or in Monos, it don't matter. 15fps tops no more.
started getting fps drops since game speed increased towards the end of the campaign
Not trying to argue that your rig can't run modern games, im simply saying, performance doesn't degrade that much over time, especially if you were getting stable 60 a year ago. Unless this game does some shader caching and your cache is full? When's the last time you clean installed the latest driver for your card?
ARPGS do have an issue where mob speed, density, and all the effects do have fps degredation while in mid-end game. Nature of the beast, but just loading up and you have a -45 FPS delta doesn't just come from a game loading up at a different point in time.
If you are honest about running KCD2 on medium 60fps 1440p on that old of a rig, then my god the devs on KCD2 must've worked miracles on their optimization.
1440p is by default taxing compared to 1080, but the fact that you have the same FPS regardless of 1440 or 1080 tells me something else is wrong. And not with the game :P
Old hardware is finnicky my dude, sorry to tell you.
I can tell you that LE even on max barely stresses my system at 1080. But I am also running a rig from last year with some of the best components for gaming on the market atm. So not really anything I can compare to. I've never had poor performance in LE tho. It has always run smooth. And this is the third computer I run it on.
never had issues in other games with shaders. i do play other unity games, or games that precompile shaders. if shaders need to be remade, the game does it. i just verified LE instal, all fine verified no file error no redownload. windows 10 up-to-date.
no clear reason for such drastic drop in performance.
