There is a campaign of misinformation and hatred toward EHG and Last Epoch. Why? I don't really know. this tribalism of wanting a game to fail that isn't the one you like is stupid and you're clearly being a part of that.
"Into the 2010s, the slang white knight further evolved to refer to a person who makes a post or comment in defense of someone else online—as if they are rushing to save them from criticism."
You rush in and claim there is no problem without ever being able to confirm or deny it in reality since you don't work for Eleventh Hour Games.
I think its strange how often people try and blame X, Y, and Z only to do a bit of googlefu and find many instances of EHG admitting there are problems with "insert topic in question". In this case servers and keys.
True, and yet.
"When did Last Epoch fully release?"
"In October 2023, it was announced that the full game would launch on February 21, 2024. On February 21, 2024 the game was finally released to the public in three editions"
You'd expect these kind of server instability issues on and shortly after release, not 8 months later.
Editing your post later to add unrelated crap to the original issue is laughable, I have nothing to do with any misinformation or hatred spreading. There is clear and visible server instability issues for people both on the discussions board and in-game through the global chat claiming about lag spikes and disconnects. This is not misinformation. I do not want this game to fail, nor do I think it is failing, from a game standpoint. It is however, failing on server stability, a grand 8 months post launch. And that's ignoring the early access period.
Remember back during the 1.0 launch debacle? judd was over on reddit boasting about how flawless the launch would go thanks to the ability to "spin up" as many servers as needed. Or how the current reason why maps have no permanence is due to server cost.
Temper your expectations, is all I am trying to say. Its still a "small" "indy" studio trying desperately to stay one lesson ahead of the student.
Well over 100 and Tencent backing no less. According to judd there is no limit to the number of servers they can "spin up", its just a shame they are from wish.
Over a year ago according to* reddit EHG was "nearly 100 team members" and Tencent got involved in March of 22.
Edit*: judd on
