In Last Epoch you only wanna get his when you have 100% Block rate and 85% block effectivenes. Other then that YOU DONT wanna get hit. Let alone get hit enough to reflect damage actually killing stuff.
For thorn builds it's really just Grim Dawn and Diablo 3/4 that has them. Path of Exile is removing their version of "thorns" next week. D2 had the aura and curse, I don't remember, I don't think it was much of a "build" though.
Yeah Reflect builds in GD are fun.
However Last Epoch misses a very vital stat which GD has:" Increased reflect damage." Without it its exactly as Tyyne said. Youre tanky as hell but because of that you dont send back any real damage aswell.
On a side note, there's a build that will throw a bouncing shield, that scales with flat reflect damage, and decimates most mobs. So, you can stand there and do nothing and everything dies. However, you can use the skill yourself to deal more damage to bosses...
This build relies on a specific unique shield drop (which is easy to get). Go for sentinel->Forge Guard for this to work well.
Further, you can go for a fire damage vairant of this build which will have the entire screen burning to death while you afk.
