Can't apply certain affixes

I must be missing something simple here.

I have several frostbite affixes - one is Cold Penetration with Frostbite and the other is Chance to Apply Frostbite with Cold Skills. Both are prefixes and can be applied to Helmets and Body Armour.

But when I put either of those items in the Forge Window, neither affix appears in the list from the crafting inventory.

What am I missing here?

looks like there is a level requirement, I dont know if that mean character level or item level requirement but its 49 for helmet and 34 with body armor

EDIT: that was for cold pen with frostbite, for apply frostbite with cold skills that seems to be ONLY from idols and only on primalist idols

Possibly you have suffixes highlighted. Happens to me sometimes.

@Pink: My assumption is that there's a level limit, but I would expect to see that on the affix description. Where did you get the 49 and 34 numbers?

@tiamats: They don't show for any filter (i.e. Any Affix).

Class restriction maybe?

The ones with class restrictions have the name of the class in the affix name.

I finally found something that says there is a level requirement.

Both affixes are mage-only.

Affix name corresponds to ONE affix on gear, but your gear can have two. Meaning, you can have a helmet that's NOT named "Mage's" and it can still have one of the two affixes you mentioned.

I believe you (I tried it on a mage and the affixes show up) but how would I have known that?

Disappointing I can't use those with my Acid Flask Rogue w/ Volatile Ice. Seems odd to restrict it to a specific class but it is what it is.

agree is can be disappointing not having the freedom other similar games offer with builds but at the same time its nice to see class identity.

I think it's important that classes can be distinguished by the skills and abilities and meshing cool things one class can do and letting every class have simply makes everything bland.
