The key word in that sentence is "I". I don't presume to declare what others are capable of.
Won't happen. Offline chars can't be used in online nor can online chars go to offline.
Cheating is why this is done. OP has nothing to worry about if they chose to go online
Now if u modded the game. (There are some on nexus) then yes this could result in a ban depending on the mod.
Developers have said they do not care what you do with your offline characters.
I don't think it's the build because when I look up guides for the bosses that I have issues with, they all say things like "these attacks will one-shot just about all builds", and I'm just not good enough to consistently avoid the one-shots. Like with Rahyeh, I just can't avoid he circle attack, and it looks like she's even harder after the patch. So I guess I could try to use one of the few builds that won't get one-shotted, but that's putting some pretty strict limits on the game.
I have a disintegrate sorcerer that does huge damage, a tanky Sentinel, and a Falconer rogue that uses poison/bleed. Can't beat Rahyeh with any of them until I get like 15 levels higher than I should be, but then I also stall out on the level 85 monolith, and I haven't bothered to grind enough levels to beat that one. The level 2 dungeon bosses all kick my ass too, but that may be more of a matter of practice because it takes so long to get to them that I don't want to play them over and over.
The game doesn't really have a truly offline mode as far as I can tell. When the servers go down, I can't play even though I set it to full offline in Steam.
