Uniques ?
Anyone else finding uniques more than a little underwhelming?

Crafted gear seems much better and it makes me wonder what role uniques are supposed to fill when it is much easier to craft gear that is better than same-level uniques than it is to find the uniques .. ?

My understanding is that uniques are supposed to be a "build around" either with a unique change and/or a benefit typically not available to that item slot. Having said that I do find that uniques are more of a stepping stone in the leveling process and quickly discarded in favor of crafted gear.

Its a bit disappointing not seeing the more unique build around, as I like to call it the "One with Nothing" approach to uniques but it is what it is currently.

from my understanding "uniques" are more meant to be interesting items, sometimes build defining, but mostly just powerful while leveling.

and then eventually there's supposed to be "legendaries" that will define builds.

it's the best system to make itemization as Uniques should change something in your build and rare should be the best option to craft and upgrade your power. It have + and - u want to build around and decided which item u want. If it will be like uniques are BEST of the BEST there will be only uniques in builds.

This is good way to respent uniques as a unique item and rares as a rare powerfull item.

The way the game is built now with respeccing passives by having to delete them, (and from the back, with most xp heavy first) just to lvl up again and pick another. That way it is far from fun to try different things.

you're getting passive points and skill points mixed up. The reason you have to re-lvl a skill after you respec its point is to prevent hotswapping in the middle of a boss, and you only lose points above your minimum skill lvl. (example given, my skill is lvl 7, my minimum skill lvl is 5. I respec three points, and get one point back.) ACTUAL passives can be respecced at the trainer for in game currency, whenever, and are never lost (not even the extra passive points from side quests) Side note, if a skill falls too low it gets an exp boost so it levels rather fast, just not instantaneously

yes i also feel like the uniques are a bit crappy and not worth my time farming. They have said that they are developing legendaries, hopefully these will have a more worthwhile unique effect while the more regular affixes on them can be modified with crafting mats.
