what a time to be alive
Lost Ark is that way, buddy.
Stylize it. Give it the 'chunky' graphics that games like Immortals Fenyx Rising use. Very low poly count models and environments, but they still look good. If that's not really viable then do 2.5D pixel art. Anything is better than looking like it came out two decades ago.
The animations are rigid. They're not as bad as say D1 or D2, but they're definitely not better than D3 or even Torchlight 1.
Let's be honest, everyone cares about graphics or you'd be playing old school text-based RPGs.
To me, gameplay is everything. Graphics are just bonus.
Return of Obra Dinn is one of the best games I've ever played, but you probably never heard of it, considering...
I don't think you played games 20 years ago if this is your take on what games looked like back then. The graphics serves its purpose and I doubt they will update ALL models - they might update some textures but I believe this is what we get and it looks perfectly fine.
Similarly, I can't understand the sheer hatred some people have for Last Epoch's graphics. Like, it looks perfectly fine to me, certainly better than all other existing ARPG's except for Diablo 4 and maybe Wolcen (say what you will about the polish, but its graphics were amazing). Yet people keep acting like Last Epoch is a refugee from the N64 era.
*Edit - Oh, the person comparing it to a PS2 is the OP lol
I have a assumption that every time a person says "Game X looks like PS2", they're younger than the PS2; I would even say they're younger than the PS3!
Because they've obviously never seen PS2 games if they think the games look like it
should they work on the animation stuff you said, yes
